With the help of Kisuke Urahara's Tenshintai and Zhang Miao's "Sacred Liquid," Ichigo Kurosaki progressed at an astonishing rate. A week later, he finally defeated Zangetsu and mastered Bankai.

By then, Kisuke Urahara had also prepared the "smuggling gate" leading to Soul Society. Once everything was ready, he immediately began chanting an incantation.
