Like the Fon family, the Ōmaeda family was a lower noble house subordinate to the Shihōin clan. For generations, they had served in the Punishment Corps. For example, the previous lieutenant of the 2nd Division had been Marechiyo Ōmaeda's father, Marechiyo Ōmaeda no Shinnoshin.

Following Yoruichi Shihōin's defection, Soi Fon became the new captain of the 2nd Division, while Marechiyo Ōmaeda became the lieutenant.

He was a nimble fat man who never lost an argument, never won a fight, and ran faster than anyone when faced with a powerful enemy. Soi Fon's evaluation of him was particularly apt.

"A guy who only thinks about food, money, and how the family business is doing back home."

But today, Zhang Miao discovered another of his traits: his ego was absurdly inflated, and he was willing to throw away all shame just to become famous!
