Jiang Dao took the dark-red necklace and left the place, gently closing the door from outside before returning to his quarters.
Inside the room.
He sat cross-legged on the bed, staring intently at the tiny writing on the necklace as he began to study it.
Time passed outside.
In another direction.
The forest was tangled and chaotic, the surroundings gloomy and shadowed.
Within a pitch-black, eerie old residence.
Corpses lay piled up, and a foul stench permeated the air.
No fewer than seven or eight Spirit Child corpses lay inside coffins.
Suddenly, one Spirit Child's abdomen rapidly swelled at a rate visible to the naked eye, as if being inflated. It quickly expanded, becoming like a woman ten months pregnant in the blink of an eye.
Then, a pale hand reached out from inside the Spirit Child's abdomen and tore open its belly.
A blood-soaked figure crawled directly out from the Spirit Child's stomach, swaying unsteadily, hair hanging loose over her shoulders, her appearance utterly miserable.
"Damn it, I nearly got killed..."
The figure's eyes were filled with lingering terror, her entire body smeared with filthy blood.
"You failed? You still didn't destroy the Yin Body?"
Not far away, a black figure opened a pair of emerald-green eyes. His voice was hoarse as he stared at the blood-covered figure.
Had Jiang Dao been here, he would have recognized at once that this blood-soaked figure was the woman in white whom he had killed and fried in blazing oil not long ago!
She had actually come back to life!
However, the woman in white was clearly much weaker after her resurrection.
"Yes, we all underestimated that man. His strength is not that of an ordinary human."
The woman in white spoke shrilly, her expression furious. "I nearly died at his hands.
