Watching Wang Ye get more and more carried away, offering his guidance with great relish, Maitreya finally could not endure it any longer. He took a punch from the old monk head-on, flew backward, landed on the ground, looked at Wang Ye, and roared.
Wang Ye looked aggrieved.
"Master, wasn't I just worried you'd get taken advantage of?"
As he spoke, his expression suddenly changed. "Master, dodge!"
With a bang, the old monk slammed another punch directly into Maitreya's face, knocking him to the ground.
Wang Ye could not help covering his own face.

As he spoke, Wang Ye took a deep breath and became energized once more. "Teacher, go!"
"Believe in yourself! You can do it!"
Silence. No one responded.
Even the old monk seemed unable to tolerate Wang Ye's nagging any longer and cast a dark look his way.

In a true one-on-one fight, Maitreya actually held the advantage, because half of the old monk's body lacked flesh and blood. He had clearly mutilated himself earlier.
Given enough time, Maitreya was confident he could wear his opponent to death.
