But now, perhaps the underworld's only remaining purpose was the path of reincarnation.
As for its former goals, with the Heaven Group now in place, the underworld's role was no longer clear. Continuing to rebuild it at a time like this was, in truth, putting the cart before the horse.
If the underworld had once been humanity's only hope, then building it had been beyond reproach.
