"Roar!" (I'm going to evolve!)
Little Gold was beside himself with excitement. The entire bear had no idea how to express his joy and busied himself on the spot for quite a while.
He looked up at the ceiling, then around him, as if he had no way to vent his feelings freely.
The main reason was that after venting, he would have to repair all the damage himself.
Over these short ten months, he had learned how to repair the forging table, walls, roof, floor...
Anyway, he had learned how to fix anything he could destroy.
Repairing the forging table was fine, but fixing everything else was truly stifling. Over time, Little Gold settled down somewhat and learned to restrain himself, no longer tearing the house apart so often.
"Take out your Claw Covers. I'll upgrade them for you, and then you should be able to evolve directly."
Su Ming smiled and held out his hand.
Little Gold obediently summoned a pair of Dark Gold Claw Covers onto his hands, took them off, and handed them to Su Ming.
He did not understand what upgrading meant, but he trusted Su Ming.
This Soul Master was very reliable.
Su Ming took the Claw Covers and placed them on the forging table.
He did not take out his Forging Hammer. Instead, he took out an exquisitely crafted Engraving Knife. It was only as large as his palm, yet incomparably sharp, its tip radiating a bone-chilling gleam.
Little Gold looked at the Engraving Knife in Su Ming's hand, and a trace of longing flashed through his eyes.
He had coveted that Engraving Knife for a long time.
Su Ming noticed his gaze and smiled. "Don't worry. Your Claw Covers will soon become qualified Soul Tools, just like my Engraving Knife."
"Roar! Roar!"
"That's only secondary. Once you evolve into a Dark Gold Dreadclaw Bear, your own Dark Gold Claws will evolve as well. By then, your Dark Gold Dreadclaws will be even more outrageous than my Engraving Knife. When that time comes, I'll improve the Core Array in your Claw Covers again to assist your Dark Gold Dreadclaws."
"Roar!"
Little Gold did not understand. He simply kept roaring, urging Su Ming to hurry up.
"Alright, alright. I'll start upgrading them now."
Su Ming's smile faded, and his expression became serious.
He poured Soul Power into the Engraving Knife in his hand. At once, the knife seemed to grow even sharper, its tip emitting a blade glow condensed from Soul Power.
Holding the Engraving Knife, Su Ming began truly inscribing the Core Array onto the Claw Covers.
Previously, he had inscribed several simple Core Arrays onto the Claw Covers. Their purpose was to promote the fusion between Little Gold and the Claw Covers, allowing Little Gold to further fuse with the metal within them and thereby stimulate his bloodline.
Of course, it was not the metal element that stimulated Little Gold's bloodline. The principle here was to use the Tear property within the Claw Covers to stimulate his Dark Gold Dreadclaw talent, thereby guiding his bloodline transformation. The process of stimulating him with the metal element had nothing to do with the Claw Covers; it was another form of cultivation—namely, Little Gold's repeated forging.
Now, Su Ming said he was upgrading the Claw Covers into Soul Tools, but in truth, they no longer counted as Soul Tools. They were part of Battle Armor.
The array he was about to inscribe already fell within the scope of Battle Armor gauntlets.
Stroke by stroke, Su Ming engraved with utmost seriousness, his mind intensely focused.
Because of Little Gold, his Sea of Consciousness had opened. The growth rate of his Spiritual Power was no longer restricted by this era. Even while concentrating all his attention on inscribing the Core Array, he could keep it up for over three hours.
Three hours later.
"Roar?" (Soul Master, why don't you rest first?)
Su Ming's face was pale, and his Soul Power was nearly exhausted. He looked as though he had just recovered from a serious illness and might collapse at any moment.
"It's fine. This upgrade has to be completed in one go, or it'll affect the results."
"Roar~" (I'm so touched~)
Little Gold turned his face aside and secretly wiped away his tears.
Su Ming gritted his teeth, forcing his hands not to tremble. At the same time, his gaze remained utterly focused as he stared fixedly at the final portion of the Claw Covers.
As he completed the final stroke, faint blue light began to flicker across the Claw Covers. It flickered in every corner, then connected together, forming densely packed energy circuits.
At that moment, Su Ming finally relaxed and collapsed onto the floor.
At some point, a cushion had appeared beneath him.
"Roar!" (You worked hard!)
Little Gold roared, signaling that Su Ming could rest now. Then he stood on tiptoe, intending to take the Claw Covers from the forging table.
Seeing this, Su Ming did not immediately pass out. Instead, he smiled and said, "Grow bigger. I've inscribed extension-type arrays onto the Claw Covers now, so they can extend along with changes in your body size."
After saying that, his head lolled to one side, and he fell asleep.
Little Gold's eyes lit up upon hearing this. He enlarged his body and picked up the Claw Covers.
Just as he was about to try them on, he suddenly felt a wave of emptiness. His entire body vanished, turning into a stream of light that returned to Su Ming's Sea of Consciousness.
"Roar!"
With his Soul Power exhausted, he could not even sustain his Soul Spirit manifestation.
Little Gold immediately began meditating, helping Su Ming recover his soul power.
After an unknown amount of time, Su Ming woke up again.
"Teaching Little Gold how to meditate was truly the best decision I ever made."
Su Ming got up and moved his body around. There were no problems at all.
His Martial Soul was his own body. Once his soul power had been fully replenished and his Martial Soul state restored, his physical condition would recover quickly as well.
"Making Battle Armor is still too much for me."
Su Ming reflected on himself and knew that he had been somewhat impulsive this time. In Dou San, he had only just advanced to a Level 4 Mecha Manufacturer, and could only sustain the forging process through Trinity in a Borrowed Power state.
"Without Trinity, I simply couldn't sustain the entire process. Fortunately, what I made this time was only a Claw Cover equivalent to a hand guard."
After recovering from utter exhaustion, his soul power had increased noticeably. More importantly, his Spiritual Power had also received excellent training. The next time he attempted the same kind of forging, he would be more at ease.
"Little Gold?"
Su Ming summoned Little Gold.
Little Gold was currently asleep.
After meditating to help Su Ming replenish his condition, Little Gold's own condition had also returned to its peak along with Su Ming's. Only then had he begun fusing with the Claw Cover.
Without needing Su Ming's guidance, he figured things out on his own and fused his Dark Gold Claws with the Claw Cover.
After fusing with the Claw Cover, Little Gold immediately fell asleep.
"His Soul Power Fluctuation is very intense. He's about to evolve."
Su Ming took a deep breath and began tidying up.
Fifth Floor of the Blacksmith Association.
Zhu Jiuyang's Forge Room.
"Teacher, can you help me find some Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures that replenish energy?"
"What do you need them for?" Zhu Jiuyang asked.
Su Ming told him the truth.
"Little Gold is about to evolve. I estimate that not only will his bloodline transform, but his Soul Ring Limit may also increase. I need to prepare for the consumption during this process in advance."
Su Ming had never experienced anything like this before, so he did not know whether a Soul Spirit would absorb energy from its Soul Master if it lacked sufficient energy during evolution.
Theoretically, it definitely would.
That was why he needed to prepare an energy supply, lest Little Gold's evolution be delayed.
"Evolve?"
Zhu Jiuyang immediately perked up.
Ever since the Dark Gold Bear had continued existing in Soul Spirit form, he had heard from Su Ming that it still had a chance to evolve, perhaps even raising its Soul Ring Limit.
Now that the moment had truly arrived, he immediately set aside all the work in his hands.
