The Gao Family was a Shanghai exorcist clan with deep roots and several centuries of accumulated influence. Its hereditary prestige rested on its bloodline, cultivation, spiritual veins, family formations, and the Haoyang Orthodox Method, a righteous technique designed to counter evil and anomalous entities 68 111 129.

Its ancestral manor was protected by the Three Talents Yin Gathering Array, elite guards, detection talismans, and secluded Guardian Elders. The family also maintained forbidden grounds centered on a Blood Altar, where curse arts were conducted with blood, resentful souls, and karmic links 122 123 124 126.

After Gao Tianliang was humiliated by Qin Feng, Elder Gao Hong supplied him with information on Hundred Ghosts Alley and a Boundary Breaking Talisman. The plan was to send Qin Feng into the forbidden land under the cover of an A-Class mission, where the Gao Family's orthodox cultivation arts would be suppressed and Qin Feng could disappear without direct blame falling on the clan 72.
