Having temporarily lost Spider-Man's trail, Mysterio understood one thing: he had definitely hidden in some enclosed space for the time being.
But Mysterio did not care. Heroes would surely pull themselves together and come challenge him again.
Captain America was certainly powerful, but he could not quickly defeat all of his drones. Iron Man was still temporarily trapped by anti-air missiles, and nobody knew what the other members of the Fantastic Four were doing. That left only the Human Torch.
Mysterio was toying with the Human Torch for the third time. Without question, the kid had not listened to Iron Man's advice and was once again chasing after Mysterio or his illusions under Mysterio's provocation. This time, the Human Torch had improved somewhat. He knew that high temperatures could affect the refraction of light, and he knew to maintain a certain altitude while launching area attacks, taking out several drones without causing any casualties.
His confidence soaring, the Human Torch began relentlessly pursuing Mysterio's illusions. Mysterio dodged everywhere, and he chased everywhere, until—
"Did you know, Human Torch? The air is very thin at high altitude."
"Of course I know, but we're still in the night!"
The Human Torch shot upward, breaking through the night in one burst. Iron Man had only just saved him, and he knew exactly where his altitude limit was. This was nothing.
But he was wrong. After breaking through the night, what he saw was not a clear blue sky, but a visible atmospheric orbit.
"I have to admire you." Mysterio's voice sounded by his ear. "As long as you're willing to believe you can still burn, you can even break past your limits... Too bad that's only what I wanted you to see."
As the Human Torch struggled to keep himself aflame, the high-altitude
