Once the clues of the Last Supper and the astronauts' news were put together, it was easy to infer one possibility—the astronauts' final dinner before their mission.

This was probably not Cletus's target. Just as Peter had said, such a target was far too easy to protect—unless they had already been infected by symbiotes.

But Peter quickly dismissed that concern. After Coulson contacted the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents stationed at NASA, the three astronauts were taken away and placed under protection, where they underwent comprehensive testing. Their blood test results showed that they had not yet been infected.

As for whether the other staff at Cape Canaveral and NASA employees had been infected, no one knew. There were too many people to screen in time.

"There's more bad news. Carnage most likely did go to Florida. Among all these new symbiote attacks, a massacre at a military base in Florida was very much Cletus's style," Coulson added. "More than twenty US Military soldiers inside were all killed. Not only had they lost their brains, but their scalps had been neatly cut off and placed on their bunks. A fifty-dollar bill was placed beside every scalp."

Peter froze for a moment. With great compassion, he held back his laughter before bringing up another matter. "There's something else I'm worried about... I previously guessed why they wanted to create Carnage, and from the looks of it now, they may have succeeded."

Whether Hydra had managed to control Cletus or not, Cletus had already created countless symbiotes. During S.H.I.E.L.D.'s containment operations, Hydra could have profited enormously, using the technology Doctor Octopus had researched for them before his death to create even more artificial symbiotes.

What worried Peter even more was whether they could create a second, or a third, Carnage.
