A Brief Intermission

When Fimbulwinter was stopped, and the Avengers and the Sorcerer Supreme arrived at the ruins of Asgard carrying the Winter Box, Odin, who had already prepared himself to suffer immensely through Fimbulwinter, froze for a moment. He knew what this meant: the sequence of Ragnarok had been disrupted.

"I'll hold onto the Winter Box for the time being. It should give Asgard some peace of mind, I suppose."

Strange made no effort to conceal his intentions, directly making the request to Odin. Odin did not refuse, either; after all, with this thing sitting anywhere in the Nine Realms, it could trigger Fimbulwinter. Leaving it with the Sorcerer Supreme, by contrast, was quite safe.

He sat upon the ruins of Asgard and suddenly began to laugh, unable to hold back a hearty laugh. His sons—Thor, Tyr, and Heimdall—stood nearby, watching their old father laugh in such a manner.

"The Norns, the Three Fates—they wanted to master destiny, yet they were mocked by it. They thought they could guide the arrival of Fimbulwinter, make a monster kill my son, make my son betray me, and wound my wife. Yet in the end, destiny was broken by their own hands."

Ragnarok was fated to arrive, but Peter Parker might change the outcome of Ragnarok, so the Three Fates plotted in every possible way, releasing Mangog in an attempt to "force everything back on track."

Yet what was the result? Mangog was banished beyond the cosmos by Spider-Man, and Iceman and the Avengers were brought in by Spider-Man, which was why Odin still couldn't help but laugh.

After laughing for a good while, he stopped laughing, stood up, and looked toward the Avengers who had come to aid them this time.
