Our War Beasts Are Deployed

Kraken Daniel Hall White continued raising the stakes without expression. One massive Hydra robot after another crossed through the portal formed by the Norn Stone and arrived on the battlefield. These enormous robots, forty to fifty meters tall, were themselves massive war machines, capable of deploying hundreds of soldiers at a time.

Hydra power armor after Hydra power armor appeared on the battlefield. Though these suits had been improved from Obadiah's Iron Monger armor and were more than a generation behind current Iron Man armor, they covered the skies and earth in numbers exceeding a hundred.

There were also mass-produced symbiote soldiers, Inhuman soldiers, and shoddy Super Soldier Serum test subjects. More and more combat forces were being deployed onto this savage land.

How had all of this happened?

Even now, Kraken had not figured it out. If he knew that all of this had been an accident caused by Spider-Man's investigation into The Hand, he would probably have felt like skinning his good disciple Gorgon alive.

But now, Kraken only intended to raise the stakes ruthlessly, continuously, and madly.

"Report, sir! We have deployed over thirty thousand soldiers into the battlefield, but after receiving reinforcements, the enemy has stabilized their lines. Doctor Faustus has also been confirmed dead! Supreme Leader Viper wishes to know whether you want to continue raising the stakes..."

A Hydra grunt came to report the situation. With Strucker captured and Zemo needing to infiltrate the enemy camp, Viper was Hydra's nominal highest leader. In most cases, she could indeed handle most of Hydra's affairs herself. But this battle had grown too large, so large that even Viper could no longer control it.

Only an old veteran like Kraken, who had survived since Red Skull's era, could truly make the final call.
