Hydra Falls Again

When the barrage ended, the only Hydra forces left on the battlefield were those locked in close combat with the Avengers to avoid friendly fire. The Avengers, meanwhile, began retreating rapidly, using explosions and Norn Stones to escape.

But strangely, despite this being the perfect opportunity to pursue them, Captain ordered everyone not to act on their own, stopping the chase and leaving many people utterly confused.

"What are you worried about, Captain?"

Tony landed beside Captain and asked. In Tony's view, this was an opportunity to push deep into Hydra's headquarters and wipe them out in one stroke. The enemy surely had other preparations, but Tony believed the Avengers could defeat them.

But Captain was not merely thinking about defeating Hydra's army.

"There's no point in pursuing them. I can be certain that none of their retreat routes lead to Hydra's headquarters. They'll lead instead to the branch bases we've discovered but haven't fully eliminated yet. Next, they'll use delaying tactics, slowing us down layer by layer before finding a way to retreat back to Hydra headquarters."

Tony was not satisfied with Captain's explanation. "Even if they intend to run, that bunch of small fry is no match for us. We can chase them all the way to Hydra headquarters."

"Is Hydra headquarters really that important to Hydra?"

Tony froze for a moment, then looked at Captain.

"The Budapest underground city was such an enormous facility, yet it was destroyed in less than a day. The Antarctic base on the Savage Continent was just as massive, and they abandoned it without hesitation. Do you really think Hydra will change its strategy this time and defend its headquarters to the death?"

At that, Captain added one more thing.

"Don't forget, Zemo's whereabouts are still unknown."
