The reason Silver Samurai had set his sights on Logan was, of course, not because Logan was the strongest.
It was because Logan had lived in postwar Japan for a time and had once been respectfully called Wolf Warrior for doing quite a few good deeds. The Japanese apparently had no idea what else to call him. As a somewhat famous warrior, Logan was the perfect target for Silver Samurai to prove himself against.
He was an illegitimate son, raised by his biological father solely because of his mutant ability. His father had wanted to turn him into a thug, and when he escaped and joined Hydra, it was because he wanted to prove that he was more than just a thug. And what could prove that better than defeating Wolf Warrior?
Plenty of things, but his tiny brain could not think of any of them. He only wanted to stubbornly challenge Logan to a duel.
Logan did not indulge him. He popped his metal claws and lunged forward, swiftly dodging the other's slash before preparing to drive his claws into his body. But the other man held his katana horizontally. As Silver Samurai's mutant ability took effect, the metal claws on Logan's left hand were cleanly severed.
Logan froze for a moment and stared at his claws in disbelief. Then, in his haste, he raised the claws on his right hand to defend himself, only for them to be cut off immediately as well.
Logan rolled over to the katana he had thrown aside, picked it up, and clashed blades with Silver Samurai. The katana was instantly sliced apart, and Silver Samurai's blade cut straight across his chest.
At that moment, Logan could only look at his opponent in confusion. Is your katana even legal?
