Not Too Late-Already Down

The three Defenders still active set out from the sewers beneath Hell's Kitchen, intending to find a route to the Hand's Tenshukaku.

Along the way, they exchanged information about the Hand and Matt.

"No one knows what exactly the Hand promised Matt or told him to make him trust them so much."

As Luke Cage spoke, he led the way at the front, scouting the path. Jessica Jones followed behind, sweeping her flashlight around the area. "Maybe Elektra's death hit him too hard. And Elektra didn't even die at the Hand's hands."

Meanwhile, after a brief moment of thought, Iron Fist Daniel gave an entirely different answer.

"Maybe the Hand showed Matt something. For example, they promised they could resurrect Elektra."

The two people in front stopped instinctively and turned to look at Daniel. After a moment of silence, Daniel asked, "What? Am I wrong?"

"That assumes the Hand can actually bring back the dead. Can they?"

Faced with that question, Daniel was uncertain as well. "In Kunlun, I heard many stories like that. Resurrection goes against the laws of nature. Either resurrection itself comes with enormous risks and problems, or it requires a sufficient price. Otherwise, it can't be done."

"If that's true, the Hand definitely wouldn't choose to pay such a huge price. Whatever method they came up with has to be flawed."

As Jessica Jones spoke, she stopped walking. After confirming their position, she looked upward. "Yeah, that should be the Japanese castle above us. And it looks like several entrances nearby lead through... wait, they're sealed off by bars."

"Step aside, ma'am..."

Luke Cage was about to ask Jessica Jones to move when she kicked the bars flying. Her image as a detective had made the Defenders nearly forget that she was a superhuman as well.
