Seeking to transcend the limitations of her race and secure a future for her people, she acquired the Azure Lotus Earth Core Flame. She refused Gu He's offer of high-grade pills for the flame because it was essential to her evolution: success would allow her to transform freely into human form and advance to Dou Zong. 96

Medusa underwent the evolution in secret at the Snake-People Divine Hall. She assumed her giant purple-serpent form, erected a protective barrier around the hall, and swallowed the Azure Lotus Earth Core Flame. The process severely burned both her body and soul before her body was destroyed and a Seven-Colored Sky Swallowing Python emerged. 97 98
