Nature and Inheritance

A Martial Soul is the outward expression of Bloodline Power. Its quality is strongly influenced by inheritance: stronger and purer bloodlines generally produce stronger Martial Souls and higher Innate Soul Power, though identical Martial Souls can still vary greatly between users 225 240 485.

Martial Soul awakenings are particularly consequential for commoners. Because powerful Martial Souls are usually inherited through families, commoners rarely awaken both useful Martial Souls and Innate Soul Power; beneficial mutations are possible but exceptionally rare 261 348 407.

Body Martial Souls

Body Martial Souls manifest through parts of the owner’s body. They are rare, and the more vital the corresponding body part, the higher the Martial Soul’s potential tends to be. Eye-type Spirit Martial Souls are among the highest-grade Body Martial Souls 52 89.

Their defining advantage is Secondary Awakening, which strengthens both combat ability and Physical Quality—thereby increasing the age of Spirit Rings the user can endure 89.

Spirit Rings and Soul Skills

• Soul Skills below the seventh ring can be used without limit for roughly thirty minutes while the Avatar is active 196.
• Newly advanced Soul Saints typically suffer a period of weakness afterward, with attributes reduced by half and recovery taking at least seven days 196.
• The backlash decreases as cultivation, Soul Ring age, and understanding of the Martial Soul improve; Titled Douluo with Soul Cores may have virtually no weakened period 325.

• High-level Soul Masters can use Origin Power to alter Soul Skill effects and develop secret techniques, secret arts, or Self-Created Soul Skills 216.
• At Super Douluo level, combat is increasingly decided by Martial Soul Origin Power and mastery of space rather than ordinary low-age Soul Skills 222.

Martial Soul Fusion Skills

A Martial Soul Fusion Skill is a qualitative fusion of two Soul Masters’ Martial Souls, producing power beyond ordinary cooperation 73.

• The Netherworld Ice Soul Body’s Mimicry talent can incorporate compatible Spirit Rings, Soul Bones, and Bloodline Power to evolve and manifest new external forms 9 223.
