Tony pointed at Mark 42.
"You mean you?" Pepper asked, completely unable to understand what Tony meant. Tony seemed to be treating the Iron Man Armor as a human being.
Tony turned around, slightly embarrassed.
"Yes, we were just welcoming you home."
Pepper asked in confusion, "We?"
"I happened to be busy, that's all. I ate first because you might have been catching up with Killian."
Tony took a few steps toward Pepper and looked at her as he spoke.
Mark 42, standing beside Pepper, immediately turned to look at her as well.
Pepper frowned at the Iron Man Armor staring at her and said, "What?"
Only after Mark 42 walked away did Pepper face Tony.
"Aldrich Killian? You investigated me?" Pepper asked, unable to believe it.
"It was Happy."
"No, you were spying on me."
"I wasn't." Tony looked at Pepper.
Pepper turned and walked away. "I'm going to bed."
She was a little sulky. She had been doing everything she could to keep the massive company running, working herself off her feet, yet one meeting with Killian had ruined the date night she had hurried back for.
She turned and headed upstairs.
