This small group of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents had come to the border between Queens and Manhattan, beside the East River.
There was a household here whose target had been in the same year and class as him, as well as the class monitor and student council president.
After finding nothing at the other houses, they hoped they would have better luck here.
The main problem was that the pressure from above was too great.
If they still had nothing to show for themselves tonight, they probably would not have an easy time when they returned.
Several of them were now posing as police officers, as if they possessed permits to violate other people's rights at will.
Even though it was nearly midnight, they knocked loudly on the door of the Isis family's home without the slightest hesitation.
It was another detached house, but being built beside the East River, it was far from cheap.
Clearly, Isis's family was fairly well-off.
The S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, however, treated it as if it were nothing and continued pounding on the door.
The knocking sounded especially jarring in the silent night.
Moreover, this was Queens, New York, United States, where, although public safety had reassured everyone much more over the past few months, the experience of several decades and the area's annual crime records still made the people inside tremble with fear.
"Who is it?!! Get lost! I'll shoot!"
The main lights in the house came on, and a rough male voice rang out from inside.
"Open up! Police investigation!"
The S.H.I.E.L.D. agents shouted without the slightest concern.
"Why should I believe you?!! Back off! Back off!!"
A large man opened the window and looked at the people outside, gripping a shotgun and aiming it at them.
Even S.H.I.E.L.D. agents felt somewhat unnerved by this display.
