Pale yellow energy instantly coiled around Red Whale's broad, thick head, even condensing into several sharp needles that spread out and tried to bore into his massive brain.

As for Leo, all the pale yellow energy around him had realized that this attempt had failed and could only self-destruct in desperation, seeking that sliver of a chance.

As the energy around Leo dissipated, his body, which had been floating lightly in the air, suddenly relaxed. Only then was he finally caught by Earth's gravity, seemingly about to fall back onto the bed.
