Chapter Summaries

Red Whale attacked the Helicarriers while Natasha exposed herself and captured Pierce in the conference room. As the second carrier crashed into the third, Natasha realized Rogers was aboard and called for Leo and Hill to save him.

• Hill saw Red Whale outside the building while Falcon continued evading the Helicarrier's guns.
• Red Whale's attack damaged one Helicarrier, which began falling toward another still launching.
• Youna Garde knocked out Pierce's assault team, then revealed herself as Natasha and aimed her pistol at Pierce.
• Red Whale struck a Helicarrier with its tail and overturned it, sending aircraft and components falling.
• Natasha saw Rogers aboard the lower Helicarrier and urgently called for Leo and Hill, but Leo did not answer.

Leo rescued Coulson and May from Garrett and his agents, then helped the team reunite with Simmons after the Central Base exploded. Garrett was revealed as both Hydra and The Clairvoyant, and Agent Hand arrived to welcome Leo.

• Leo killed four agents with Metal Darts, disarmed May, and wounded Garrett so severely that Coulson asked him to keep Garrett alive for judgment.

• Supergiant Star turned Baron Star’s five nuclear missiles into stones, and Thanos sliced one warhead apart before it could detonate.

After killing more than seven thousand Hydra members, Leo fell asleep from exhaustion in the Nevada wilderness, prompting Tony Stark to set out to find him. Elsewhere, Thanos and the Obsidian Four Generals began massacring a planet.

• Leo felt overwhelmed by the emotional toll of killing thousands of Hydra members and decided he needed to rest.
• Nick Fury and Natasha watched the remaining Hydra base markers stop changing and worried when Leo did not answer Fury’s call.

Liu Chong entered the warehouse to confront Kai, who had lured him there to force him to make metal models. After Kai’s men were killed and Kai was transformed into a metal figure, the injured man died after naming Klaue and Ulysses Klaue.

• Liu Chong discovered Kai and his armed men waiting in the warehouse and entered wearing a metal mask.
• Kai’s men tied Liu Chong up, but Liu Chong freed himself and used Kai’s gun to kill the six underlings.
• Liu Chong stopped Kai from attacking him and demanded to know who the injured man was.
• Kai threw a Metal Model at Liu Chong, so Liu Chong turned Kai into a metal figure fused with the model.
• The injured man told Liu Chong, “Klaue... Ulysses Klaue,” and died.

After returning from captivity, Tony Stark announced that he would shut down Stark Industries’ weapons division and went with Leo to inspect the power generation center. Leo revealed that he knew about Tony’s failing Arc Reactor and Yinsen, then predicted that Tony would soon encounter his kidnappers again as Obadiah arrived.

• Tony told reporters he had seen soldiers killed by weapons he had made and announced that he would shut down Stark Industries’ weapons division.

• Zhang Huan explained that he had come to Shanghai to protect Jenny and George after Dragon Fang discovered them, and Leo accepted his explanation.
