Ch. 1Xia Yi

Ten-year fox Xia Yi hunted Soft Bone Rabbits in the Star Dou Forest and tried to kill Gu Yue when she entered the forest. Gu Yue saved him from a vine trap, but Xia Yi attacked her and wounded her neck, leaving them in a fight.

  • Xia Yi trapped and killed two hundred-year Soft Bone Rabbits, then hid when he heard someone approach.
  • Gu Yue entered the caged Star Dou Forest after presenting her identity card to a patrolling mecha.
  • Gu Yue freed Xia Yi from a vine trap and caught him, thinking he was an injured ten-year fox.
  • Xia Yi sprang at Gu Yue and slashed her neck, but she reacted quickly enough to keep him from tearing open her throat.
  • Gu Yue became furious and prepared to retaliate against Xia Yi.

Ch. 2Beast Descends

Xia Yi fought Gu Yue and overwhelmed her with his strength, knocking her unconscious and drinking her blood. The Star Dou Forest’s legendary core Beasts arrived to find their Lord injured and Xia Yi sprawled over her.

  • Gu Yue pursued Xia Yi with fireballs, but he evaded her by swinging through the forest on vines.
  • Gu Yue copied Xia Yi’s movements and narrowly dodged a log trap, but Xia Yi then leaped onto her and seized her ankle.
  • Xia Yi repeatedly smashed Gu Yue against a tree and the ground until he knocked her unconscious.
  • Xia Yi bit Gu Yue’s neck and greedily drank her fragrant blood.
  • A thunderous voice knocked Xia Yi unconscious as the Star Dou Forest’s core Beasts descended and found Gu Yue injured.

Ch. 3Evolution

After Xia Yi nearly killed Gu Yue, she spared him and ordered Bi Ji to watch over him and discover his secret. Xia Yi then refined Gu Yue’s blood and evolved, leaving Bi Ji astonished by his transformation.

  • Xiong Jun tried to attack Xia Yi, but Di Tian stopped him, and Zi Ji showed the Beasts evidence of Xia Yi’s traps and unusual abilities.
  • Bi Ji healed Gu Yue, who woke and chose to spare Xia Yi; Gu Yue ordered Bi Ji to observe him while other Beasts searched Star Dou Forest for similar Soul Beasts.
  • After the search found no other Xia Yi, Bi Ji saw silver light pouring from his body and realized Gu Yue’s blood was threatening to make him explode.
  • Xia Yi sealed his body and endured the Silver Dragon Bloodline’s struggle until its aura vanished, then grew a snow-white tail and evolved.

Ch. 4The Plane Master's Suppression

After discovering signs that Gu Yue had been rescued, Xia Yi realized Bi Ji was secretly watching him and cautiously accepted her presence. As he stared at the moon, the Plane Master struck him with a pillar of light, and Gu Yue and the great Beasts recognized it as suppression.

  • Xia Yi found fresh holes made by his arrows and concluded that someone had rescued Gu Yue and restored his trap.
  • Xia Yi left a roasted rabbit for his hidden watcher, and Bi Ji revealed herself, accepted the food, and identified herself as the Emerald Swan.
  • While gazing at the moon from a tree, Xia Yi felt anger and sorrow before a Sky-Piercing Light Pillar slammed him to the ground and immobilized him.
  • Bi Ji tried to approach Xia Yi but was blasted away, and even Di Tian's dragon claw could not overcome the pillar.
  • Gu Yue arrived with several great Beasts and explained that the Plane Master was suppressing Xia Yi, blaming herself because their actions had drawn its attention.

Ch. 5Forced Transformation

The Plane Master forced Xia Yi to transform into a human, prompting Gu Yue and the Beasts to fear he would lose his identity in the human world. Gu Yue took him to the Lake of Life and ordered him to prepare for a month before entering human society, where Di Tian and Zi Ji would train him.

  • Di Tian failed to free Xia Yi from the Plane Master's pillar of light, and Gu Yue vowed to kill the Plane Master once she recovered.
  • The pillar forced Xia Yi to transform into a human, and Gu Yue recognized the transformation as the Plane Master's true method of suppressing him.
  • Gu Yue ordered Xia Yi to return to the Star Dou Forest Core, while Bi Ji and Zi Ji amused themselves by dressing him in mismatched clothes until Di Tian replaced them with black robes.
  • At the Lake of Life, Gu Yue gave Xia Yi one month to learn Soul Beast history and adapt to his human body and martial soul before she took him to cultivate in the human world.
  • Zi Ji and Di Tian began preparing to train Xia Yi in his body and soul skills, despite his attempt to switch instructors.

Ch. 6Leaving Star Dou Forest

After a month of harsh training in Star Dou Forest, Xia Yi was sent out by Zi Ji so he could attempt to join Shrek Academy’s Zero Class in Eastsea City. He experienced direct sunlight for the first time, while Gu Yue prepared to visit the Spirit Pagoda and seek Wu Zhangkong’s help.

  • Gu Yue questioned Di Tian and Zi Ji about Xia Yi, and they reported his exceptional learning and combat ability but weak martial soul and limited potential.
  • Di Tian argued that Xia Yi’s cleverness could make him useful, so Gu Yue ordered Zi Ji to take him to Eastsea City while she sought Wu Zhangkong’s help with Zero Class.
  • Zi Ji explained that the other Beasts were occupied guarding Gu Yue, Na’er, or Star Dou Forest, then used her Soul Core to teleport Xia Yi outside the forest.
  • Xia Yi savored direct sunlight outside Star Dou Forest, while Zi Ji watched with sadness at how many Soul Beasts had never experienced it.

Ch. 7Three Minutes

Zi Ji drove Xia Yi to Eastsea Academy, where Gu Yue introduced him as a prospective Zero Class student. Wu Zhangkong rejected Xia Yi’s application but offered him a three-minute trial against Tang Wulin, and the chapter ended as their fight began.

  • Zi Ji drove Xia Yi to Eastsea City, and Xia Yi quickly learned to drive her Soul Guidance car and spent time circling the city before Gu Yue called them to Eastsea Academy.
  • Gu Yue brought Xia Yi and Xu Xiaoyan to meet Wu Zhangkong, who gave Xu Xiaoyan a month to prove herself but rejected Xia Yi because of his low Soul Power.
  • Xia Yi challenged Wu Zhangkong’s unequal treatment, so Wu Zhangkong offered him a place in Zero Class if he lasted three minutes against Tang Wulin.
  • Gu Yue warned Tang Wulin that Xia Yi’s strength matched his, and Wu Zhangkong started the fight with no restrictions beyond forbidding them to kill each other.

Ch. 8Victory in Three Moves

Xia Yi defeated Tang Wulin in three moves during his Zero Class assessment, then left Eastsea Academy after Gu Yue and the others rushed to the infirmary. He told Zi Ji he distrusted Gu Yue’s loyalty to the Soul Beasts and proposed a test to see whether she would prioritize Tang Wulin or Bi Ji.

  • Tang Wulin attacked Xia Yi, but Xia Yi distracted him by asking about Gu Yue, then struck him with a low kick and throat lock before injuring his eyes.
  • Wu Zhangkong carried the screaming Tang Wulin to the infirmary while Gu Yue and Xie Xie followed, leaving Xia Yi behind at Eastsea Academy.
  • Zi Ji took Xia Yi to find a hotel and explained that Gu Yue had arranged for her to wait because Xia Yi had no dormitory.
  • Xia Yi told Zi Ji he had beaten Tang Wulin in three moves and accused Gu Yue of revealing his trump card and reacting with hostility when Tang Wulin was hurt.
  • Xia Yi warned Zi Ji that he would not remain loyal to Gu Yue if she betrayed the Soul Beasts, then proposed testing whether she would choose Tang Wulin or Bi Ji.
  • Zi Ji called Di Tian to let him decide whether to proceed with Xia Yi’s plan to tell Gu Yue that Bi Ji had been gravely wounded.

Ch. 9Permanent Loss of Certain Functions

Tang Wulin’s injuries left him at risk of permanently losing certain functions, and Gu Yue sought help from a healing Title Douluo. She discovered that Bi Ji was gravely injured and could not safely use Soul Power, leaving Tang Wulin’s chance of recovery uncertain.

  • The doctor told Wu Zhangkong and the others that Tang Wulin would recover from his eye and throat injuries but might permanently lose certain functions because of damage to his lower body.
  • Gu Yue argued with the doctor, then learned that a healing Title Douluo might be able to help Tang Wulin and said she knew one in Eastsea City.
  • Di Tian called Gu Yue to report that Bi Ji had been severely injured in an attack by Spirit Pagoda powerhouses.
  • Gu Yue went to the courtyard and found Bi Ji bedridden, while Di Tian claimed they had been discovered and besieged by multiple Four-Word Battle Armor.
  • Di Tian told Gu Yue that Bi Ji could not use Soul Power without risking her life.

Ch. 10Testing and a Reminder

Gu Yue considered risking Bi Ji’s life to save Tang Wulin, but Xia Yi confronted her and exposed how her feelings conflicted with her duty to the Soul Beasts. After Gu Yue accepted the reminder, Xia Yi called Wu Zhangkong to ask whether defeating Tang Wulin had earned him a place in Zero Class, but Wu Zhangkong hung up.

  • Gu Yue asked Bi Ji to help save Tang Wulin, and Bi Ji declared she would obey even at the cost of her life.
  • Xia Yi barged in, condemned Gu Yue for considering sacrificing Bi Ji, and told her to remember her responsibility as Master of Soul Beasts.
  • Di Tian carried Bi Ji away with Zi Ji, while Xia Yi left and returned with food to speak with Gu Yue.
  • Xia Yi revealed that Bi Ji had only pretended to be injured as part of a plan to test Gu Yue and remind her of her identity.
  • Gu Yue acknowledged that she had acted cruelly and asked whether Xia Yi had planned the reminder from the beginning.
  • Xia Yi answered Wu Zhangkong’s call, said he had defeated Tang Wulin, and asked whether he had passed the assessment; Wu Zhangkong hung up.

Ch. 11Na'er

Wu Zhangkong contacted his former teacher Zhuo Shi to ask Holy Spirit Douluo Ya Li to save the gravely injured Tang Wulin. Ya Li rushed to Eastsea Academy with Na'er, who slipped away after arriving and went to Star Dou Forest's hidden residence with a dragon-scale spear in hand.

  • Wu Zhangkong called Zhuo Shi and asked him to find a Spirit Douluo healer for Tang Wulin.
  • Zhuo Shi went to Sea God Pavilion and persuaded Ya Li to travel to Eastsea City to save Tang Wulin.
  • Na'er insisted on accompanying Ya Li, and they reached Eastsea Academy within a quarter of an hour.
  • While Ya Li examined Tang Wulin, Na'er quietly left the academy and found Star Dou Forest's hidden residence in Eastsea City.
  • Na'er summoned two purple soul rings and a silver-white, dragon-scale-covered spear.

Ch. 12Gu Yue's Gloating

Gu Yue realized Xia Yi had deliberately guided her emotions, then went to face Na'er, who blamed her for Tang Wulin's injury and set out to kill Xia Yi. Gu Yue let Na'er enter the Inner Court, confident she would soon regret challenging him.

  • Gu Yue recognized that Xia Yi had used calculated persuasion to change her feelings, and Xia Yi warned her not to repeat her mistake over the Soul Guidance Communicator.
  • Gu Yue left to meet Di Tian and the others, while Xia Yi urged her to apologize to them.
  • Na'er confronted Gu Yue with her Silver Dragon Spear, accusing her of breaking their bet by ordering a Soul Beast to injure Tang Wulin.
  • Gu Yue insisted Xia Yi was not a Hundred-Thousand-Year Transformed Soul Beast, but Na'er refused to believe her and threatened to defeat her if she interfered.
  • Gu Yue allowed Na'er to go after Xia Yi and watched her enter the Inner Court with a trace of gloating amusement.

Ch. 13Poor Little Lord (Part 1)

Gu Yue let Na'er attack Xia Yi, believing he would withstand her, and Xia Yi fought back against Na'er's relentless spear assault. After exhausting his Soul Power without using a soul skill, Xia Yi revealed that Na'er, a Soul Grandmaster, had failed to defeat a Level Ten auxiliary-type Soul Scholar.

  • Gu Yue told Di Tian, Zi Ji, and Bi Ji to watch the fight but not interfere unless Na'er was in danger.
  • Na'er launched a surprise attack through the dining-room window, and Xia Yi dodged the Silver Dragon Spear but suffered a long chest wound.
  • Xia Yi caught Na'er's spear with his hands and overpowered her in strength, but her First Soul Skill forced him to enter Martial Soul Possession.
  • Na'er relentlessly attacked Xia Yi with the Silver Dragon Spear, leaving him with many wounds and exhausting his Soul Power.
  • Na'er realized Xia Yi had been using her as practice because he had not used any soul skills, and Xia Yi taunted her for failing to defeat him.

Ch. 14Poor Little Lord (Part 2)

Xia Yi used his knowledge of Tang Wulin's injuries to convince Na'er that he had planted detonating Soul Power inside him. He forced Na'er to humiliate herself, leaving her furious and vowing revenge.

  • Xia Yi explained that his First Soul Skill, Star Shift, could regrow severed limbs but consumed too much Soul Power for him to use against Na'er.
  • Na'er rejected Xia Yi's claim that he was a support Soul Master and attacked him, but stopped when he threatened Tang Wulin's life.
  • Xia Yi claimed he had left Soul Power inside Tang Wulin and could detonate it, then pretended that Ya Li had discovered most of it while treating Tang Wulin.
  • Xia Yi warned Na'er that one hidden spot remained and ordered her to kneel, kowtow a hundred times, and slap herself a hundred times.
  • Na'er obeyed after Xia Yi began a countdown, then tearfully swore that he would regret humiliating her.

Ch. 15Na'er's Breakdown

Na'er endured Xia Yi's punishment after kneeling to save Tang Wulin, while Gu Yue and the Beasts watched. Xia Yi forced Na'er to admit she had wronged the Master of Soul Beasts and betrayed her subordinates, then made her seek their forgiveness before he would release Tang Wulin.

  • Gu Yue explained to Di Tian that Xia Yi was humiliating Na'er to expose her choices to the Beasts, and that they could not intervene because Na'er had chosen to kneel.
  • Na'er completed a hundred slaps, but Xia Yi forced her to remain kneeling and called Gu Yue, Di Tian, Zi Ji, and Bi Ji into the room.
  • Na'er panicked at being seen by them, and Xia Yi stopped Bi Ji from healing her injuries.
  • Xia Yi threatened to detonate the Soul Power inside Tang Wulin, forcing Na'er to admit she had been wrong to try to kill Xia Yi and to kneel as the Master of Soul Beasts.
  • Xia Yi told Na'er to earn her subordinates' forgiveness before he would release Tang Wulin, and Na'er began kowtowing to Bi Ji, Di Tian, and Zi Ji.

Ch. 16Aftereffects

Xia Yi explained his uncertain commitment to saving the Star Dou Forest and answered Gu Yue’s questions about Na’er and Tang Wulin. At Skysea Academy, Holy Spirit Douluo Ya Li healed Tang Wulin but warned that his injuries would leave lasting limitations.

  • Bi Ji knocked Na’er unconscious, and Xia Yi warned her that saving the Star Dou Forest would require readiness to pay any price.
  • Xia Yi told Gu Yue he would remain at Eastsea Academy for now and explained that he chiefly wanted to discover what he was.
  • Xia Yi explained that Na’er had inferred Tang Wulin was being treated because she came to assassinate him instead of seeking Bi Ji.
  • Holy Spirit Douluo Ya Li healed Tang Wulin’s eyes and throat but said his lower-body injuries had left aftereffects because treatment came too late.
  • Xie Xie explained that Gu Yue had promised to find a healing Title Douluo, and Wu Zhangkong began suspecting she had deliberately delayed help.
  • Ya Li said Tang Wulin’s functions remained intact, but he would have to avoid strenuous activity.

Ch. 17I Really Am Healing Type

Xia Yi brought the unconscious Na'er back to Eastsea Academy, where Tang Wulin recognized her and the Holy Spirit Douluo Ya Li demanded an explanation for her injuries. Xia Yi refused Ya Li’s apology and offer of a place at Shrek Academy, then negotiated for a chance to inspect her treasures and demonstrated his unusual healing ability.

  • Gu Yue and Xia Yi returned Na'er to Eastsea Academy, and Tang Wulin recognized her as his younger sister.
  • Xia Yi told Ya Li that Na'er had tried to kill him and demanded compensation, while Ya Li apologized and offered him direct admission to Shrek Academy.
  • Xia Yi rejected Ya Li’s offer, and Gu Yue warned him that Shrek Academy was his best path toward becoming a Battle Armor Master.
  • Xia Yi said Ya Li carried something that attracted him, and she agreed to show him several treasures if he returned Na'er.
  • Xia Yi healed the visible wounds on Na'er's head with Star Shift, prompting Ya Li to ask how his fox martial soul had done it.

Ch. 18Would You Be My Student?

Xia Yi demonstrated Star Shift to Holy Spirit Douluo Ya Li, who offered him rare treasures in exchange for studying the ability. After seeing him heal her wound, she asked him to become her student, but Xia Yi refused and asked for the Heaven-Forged Metal instead.

  • Ya Li offered Xia Yi a selection of priceless treasures, including Heaven-Forged Metal, but none of them attracted him.
  • At Ya Li’s request, Xia Yi demonstrated Star Shift and explained that her powerful body made her wound too difficult for him to heal completely.
  • Xia Yi used his first soul skill to heal more than half of Ya Li’s palm wound before his Soul Power ran out.
  • Ya Li asked Xia Yi to become her student, but he refused and chose the Heaven-Forged Metal instead.

Ch. 19I'm Stupid

Xia Yi refused Holy Spirit Douluo Ya Li’s offer to become her disciple, insisting that he did not want to be a support-type Soul Master and asking instead for Heaven-Forged Metal. He threatened to report Na’er’s attempted assassination, then argued that the Federal Government would have to punish Shrek Academy if the incident became public, leaving Ya Li impressed by his reasoning.

  • Holy Spirit Douluo Ya Li offered to make Xia Yi her disciple and promised him Heaven-Forged Metal, but Xia Yi refused because he did not want to become a support-type Soul Master.
  • Ya Li argued that Xia Yi’s powerful healing skill meant he should follow the healing path, while Xia Yi pointed out that his Martial Soul was a fox and his later soul skills might differ.
  • Ya Li refused to hand over the Heaven-Forged Metal unless Xia Yi first became her disciple, and Xia Yi threatened to report Na’er’s attempted assassination to the Federal Police.
  • Ya Li dismissed the threat, but Xia Yi explained that the Federal Government would use a public investigation to suppress Shrek Academy and would have to enforce the law to avoid appearing afraid.
  • Ya Li admired Xia Yi’s political reasoning and asked him to continue.

Ch. 20Faith Power

Xia Yi argued that the Federal Government’s growing tolerance of Shrek Academy might conceal a plan to bring it under control, alarming Holy Spirit Douluo Ya Li. After Ya Li restored Xia Yi’s Soul Power, his brow began absorbing her Faith Power.

  • Xia Yi challenged Ya Li’s belief that the Federal Government’s dependence on Shrek Academy would keep it from targeting the academy.
  • Ya Li claimed the government overlooked Shrek students’ crimes, while Xia Yi argued that a government would seek to control something it depended on.
  • Xia Yi warned that the Federal Government might be indulging Shrek Academy to lower its guard before carrying out a secret plan against it.
  • Ya Li decided the danger needed discussion at a Sea God Pavilion meeting and stopped pressing Xia Yi to become her disciple.
  • Ya Li restored Xia Yi’s exhausted Soul Power, but a suction force from his brow began absorbing her Faith Power.
