Background / History

Lin Xue lived with Chen Feng in Black Mountain Village as his wife. When the Huang Family sought to take her away, Chen Feng refused to yield to Old Master Huang's demands despite their poverty 1 12.

After moving to Black Stone Academy, Xue'er primarily remained in their courtyard while Chen Feng cultivated. She was content with their improved life, prepared meals for him, and avoided traveling far because she lacked martial ability 87 91. Chen Feng began considering martial training for her so she could defend herself.

Chen Feng's Soul Perception later revealed that Xue'er possessed an abnormally vast, cold soul aura, far stronger than his own. The source and significance of this soul power were initially unknown 133 134.

Her Great Yin Body awakened when Great Yin Sect Grandmaster Qi Yinhua targeted her in Black Stone City. The Great Yin Mirror was drawn to her constitution and entered her soul space; the resulting Yin eruption nearly overwhelmed her until Chen Feng refined the excess energy and Void King Lin Lan intervened 162 164 165.

Because the Great Yin Sect continued to pursue her, Lin Lan took Xue'er to the Great Gan Imperial City. There, she became the Ice River Martial Saint's disciple and began Yin-attribute cultivation 166 167 217.

Her encounters with the Great Yin Sect change her outlook. Although terrified of leaving Chen Feng, she accepts separation to avoid endangering him and resolves to cultivate until she can protect him in turn 166 167. This determination later drives her to enter dangerous inheritance trials and continue pursuing the remaining Great Yin Divine General legacies 261 325 332.
