Wan Baoyang first met Chen Feng and Lin Xue outside Black Stone Academy. A smiling, slightly overweight student in white, he offered to bring them inside for a three-tael fee, treating academy visits by outsiders as a side business. He led them through the side gate after discreetly paying the guard, then introduced the academy's training grounds and resource-driven cultivation environment. 23

When Chen Feng revealed Yun Xi's Demon Patrol Envoy recommendation token, Wan Baoyang immediately took him to the admissions office. After Chen Feng was accepted, Wan Baoyang continued acting as his guide, explaining the academy's rules, cultivation systems, the Scripture Pavilion, and the risks of pursuing multiple paths at once. 24 25 27

He became one of Chen Feng's earliest suppliers, locating Bull Demon Essence Blood, second-tier essence blood, and weapons while sharing information on weapon grades, demonic activity, and the Demonic Blade Secret Realm.
