Background / History

Before transmigrating, the First Emperor was framed by powerful figures and retained a belief in fairness and justice. He later remembered dying as a mental patient, realizing that his cultivation had been enabled by his instinctive belief that energy was not conserved. 732 748

In the Nine Provinces of his parallel world, he became a Human Emperor Candidate alongside Yu Yin and Bai Hongtu. The three began as friends, though he was already outspoken about becoming the strongest and standing above others. After attaining the Great Ascension Stage and effortlessly defeating an Extraterrestrial Demon, he began treating his former friends as subordinates instead. 726

He unified the Nine Provinces and established the Immortal Dynasty. His rule expanded the continent by incorporating worlds and refining the life-bearing planets of the Eight Desolations into surrounding continents. He standardized maps and systems, publicized cultivation methods, established imperial examinations, lowered cultivation barriers, and created channels for advancement. 724

His reforms favored low- and middle-level cultivators, but his authority remained absolute. The First Emperor’s Law explicitly declared that the Emperor was not bound by law; officials feared execution for displeasing him, and forbidden books recorded his earlier cruelties. 724 725

Appearance

The First Emperor has the same appearance as Jiang Li, though his bearing is drastically different: where Jiang Li appears approachable, the First Emperor projects an oppressive, natural authority. 728 750

  • Commonly wears black clothing or an emperor’s robe. 670 728
  • His mere presence can immobilize or terrify lower-level cultivators. 728
  • His aura is described as domineering and overwhelming, even when he does not deliberately release power. 318
  • When fighting at full scale, he can enlarge his body until it spans the heavens. 673

Personality

The First Emperor is proud, domineering, and intensely conscious of rank. He demands to be addressed as “First Emperor,” rejects equals he considers unworthy, and regards resistance to his rule as rebellion. 671 673

He is not indiscriminately interested in tormenting weaker opponents; rather, he values strength, challenge, and decisive punishment. His standards are nevertheless brutal: in the Eight Desolations, he judged people by Nine Provinces law and executed those he deemed deserving of death. 734 750

Despite his tyranny, he possesses genuine administrative ability and a strong desire for order. Jiang Li concludes that the First Emperor’s presence is necessary to stabilize his particular parallel world, though Jiang Li seeks to make him less bloodthirsty. 739

After repeated encounters with Jiang Li, he begins recognizing his own isolation and the value of achieving goals through wisdom rather than force. He removes his system, loosens his control over the imperial harem, and takes responsibility for defending the Nine Provinces against external threats. 734 739 745

Abilities & Skills

Great Ascension Physique

The First Emperor possesses extraordinary physical strength, Qi and Blood, and durability. He fights powerful opponents directly with his body and can overwhelm Immortals without relying on conventional weapons. 673 758

  • Defeated the major powers of the Eight Desolations, including Immortals and Desolation Lords. 672 673
  • Tore off the Immortal Emperor’s arm and repeatedly destroyed his Immortal body. 673
  • Can suppress powerful opponents through sheer pressure or an invisible force. 671
  • His physical combat power was ultimately surpassed by Jiang Li, who forced him back and cracked the Heaven Desolate Halberd with bare-handed strikes. 319

Emperor Runes

The First Emperor creates and wields unique Emperor Runes, which embody his personal path and provide immense offensive power. 730 758

  • Great Carefree Heavenly King Fist — A self-created rune-based fist art that crushes opponents through an unrestrained, domineering mental state. 758
  • Ten Directions of Annihilation — Uses blood from between his eyebrows to draw an Imperial Rune representing ultimate extinction. 730
  • Emperor Runes can combine into large-scale attacks capable of suppressing Primal Ancestor. 747

Creation Dao

The First Emperor’s Creation Dao enables rapid recovery from otherwise devastating injuries. 729

  • Restored himself after Jiang Li’s reflected thunder caused his blood to explode. 729
  • Allows him to continue fighting after severe physical damage. 729 743

Thunder Techniques

After being defeated by Jiang Li’s Five Thunder Righteous Method, the First Emperor overturned his previous understanding of thunder techniques and developed a stronger new method. 673

  • Creation Thunder Control Spell — A powerful lightning technique used against Jiang Li during their later clash. 729
  • His evolved thunder art surpasses the strongest conventional Thunder Tribulation. 673

Dream Dao

The First Emperor can construct and control enormous Dreamlands despite not matching Meng Chun’s technical familiarity with the Dream Dao. 318

  • Created a Dreamland larger than the Nine Provinces World. 318
  • Used the Dreamland as the setting for his first major battle against Jiang Li. 318 319
  • Frequently entered dreams afterward in an effort to find and challenge Jiang Li. 729

Battle Talent

The First Emperor is an exceptional combat genius who develops techniques during live battle rather than through prolonged study. 743

  • Adapts his techniques to changing opponents and conditions. 743
  • Created new Dao techniques while fighting two Divine Treasure Venerables. 743
  • His long record of real combat distinguishes him from system-dependent cultivators such as Idle Jiang Li. 487

  • Spiritual Qi Eye — A Spiritual Qi source owned by the First Emperor, within which he secluded himself before encountering Jiang Li again. 728 729
  • System — He once relied on a system and its missions, but later removed it to prevent Divine Treasure Venerable from influencing or controlling him. 726 739 742

Relationships

  • Jiang Li — Parallel-world counterpart, rival, eventual collaborator, and the only opponent to decisively defeat him. Jiang Li guides him toward restraint and wiser use of power. 319 729 739

  • Commander Liu — Imperial Palace Commander responsible for palace security under the Immortal Dynasty. 724
  • Idle Jiang Li — Another parallel-world Jiang Li whom the First Emperor repeatedly encountered in dreams for real-combat training. 732
  • Immortal Emperor — Rival claimant to the title of Emperor; the First Emperor defeated and nearly killed him during his invasion of the Immortal Realm. 673 674
  • Divine Treasure Venerable — Enemy Heavenly Dao incarnation that sought to control him through the system and later fought him directly. 674 742 743
