This time, Jiang Yan Hai did not even need to say anything. Gong Jian and the others had already noticed that the blue dots representing Blue Army positions not far from them—or rather, not far from the various Iron Fist Regiment positions—were incredibly dense. That meant Blue Army communications were extremely frequent.
But at the Red Army positions of their Iron Fist Regiment, the location of the regimental headquarters... had practically no blue dots at all. Instead, communications were unusually frequent at the various company and battalion headquarters.
"Right now, communications throughout our area have been blocked by Blue Army. We can't contact the Red Army command headquarters outside our area, they can't contact us, and we can't even contact each other," Jiang Yan Hai said bluntly.
Looking at the regimental headquarters location on the screen, where there were almost no blue dots, Gong Jian felt like crying without tears. Did that even need to be said?
Jiang Yan Hai's guess had been right. Master Kang had been taken out again!
But amid his frustration, Gong Jian also felt a measure of relief. Another expert had appeared on their side. But... what left Gong Jian speechless was that it was Jiang Yan Hai again. And... it was one thing for him to be incredible at shooting, physical training, and so on, but why did he know communications too?
And this was far beyond merely knowing it. He was clearly an expert, all right?
Was this the difference between a genius and an ordinary person?
"Can you lift the enemy's blockade?" Gong Jian immediately asked.
"No." Jiang Yan Hai shook his head decisively. Jamming communications was not that simple; it required massive amounts of computational support.
The Electronic Warfare Support System could certainly do it, but Jiang Yan Hai had no way to explain it!
You expected people to believe that one laptop could contend against so much of Blue Army's professional Information Warfare equipment? Who were you kidding?!
This was science, not mythology. Unless Jiang Yan Hai wanted to be thoroughly investigated, he could not do something like that.
Simply infiltrating a system could still be explained as having found a vulnerability. Besides, he was already within the Red Army system, so that was somewhat explainable.
"However, Instructor, since they're blocking our communications system, they're exchanging data with us. That gives me a chance to try infiltrating Blue Army's command system," Jiang Yan Hai said after hesitating for a moment.
"You can do that?!" Gong Jian's and Old Hei's eyes both lit up.
Especially Gong Jian's. As a new-generation modern soldier, he naturally knew what it meant to infiltrate the enemy's command system!
"I can check some of their orders. I'm afraid I can't do much more than that." Jiang Yan Hai shook his head slightly.
"That's already amazing. Hurry up and start." Gong Jian immediately urged.
Of course, if Jiang Yan Hai had been given enough time, he actually could have entered the enemy's command system, even their highest-level system.
But the reason he could do that was naturally because this was an exercise. The enemy's system was actually the same as their own.
If they were facing a real enemy, it naturally would not have been so easy.
Jiang Yan Hai did not waste words and immediately got to work.
In truth, infiltrating the other side's system was very simple. The systems were fundamentally identical. Jiang Yan Hai had already obtained all of the Red Army's system data, and the enemy's system data shared the same underlying architecture as theirs, so infiltrating it was naturally smooth sailing.
Still, Jiang Yan Hai did not go too far. He only infiltrated one of the enemy's company headquarters communication systems and intercepted their orders from within.
"Instructor, they'll launch a full-scale attack on the Iron Fist Regiment in twenty minutes, trying to wipe us out in one stroke," Jiang Yan Hai directly revealed the enemy's orders.
"Instructor, we should retreat! We can't knowingly jump into the enemy's trap!" Old Hei hurriedly said from beside him.
"Retreat!" After thinking for a moment, Gong Jian gritted his teeth and gave the order.
If the order to hold their ground had come from the Red Army command headquarters or the regimental headquarters, he might have hesitated.
But this order was clearly an enemy trap. Naturally, he could not fall for it.
"Instructor, I suggest we abandon the tanks," Jiang Yan Hai said decisively.
"Why?" Gong Jian froze for a moment.
"Although we learned of the enemy's orders in advance, their encirclement has clearly already taken shape. Their missiles, artillery, and other weapons are all trained on our positions. We can't contact the other units right now, and twenty minutes isn't enough time. It's a foregone conclusion that the heavy weapons will be destroyed."
"So, I suggest withdrawing all personnel and setting up some Booby Traps on the equipment to catch them off guard."
This was the best option available.
"We'll do it that way. Old Hei, issue the order immediately. All personnel are to abandon all heavy equipment and retreat at once." Gong Jian was equally decisive and immediately gave the order.
"Yes!" Old Hei turned and left at once.
"Squad Leader Old Hei, wait." Jiang Yan Hai immediately called out.
"Instructor, I suggest sending several people to notify the nearby companies and have them retreat as well. Notify as many as we can. We need to preserve as much of our fighting strength as possible," Jiang Yan Hai added.
"Old Hei, go arrange it," Gong Jian immediately said.
"Yes!" This time, Old Hei truly left.
"You kid, not bad! When the exercise is over, I'll put you in for a commendation!" Gong Jian gave Jiang Yan Hai a thumbs-up.
At the same time, he could not help feeling emotional. Setting the exercise aside, Jiang Yan Hai was simply outstanding, whether in military foresight, strategic awareness, or all kinds of military skills! More importantly, he even knew Information Warfare now—and he was an expert at it!
Damn it!
Gong Jian did not even know what to say. He could only be thankful that this was his soldier.
"Thank you, Instructor." Jiang Yan Hai smiled.
"All right, we retreat now." Gong Jian waved his hand. This was no time to talk about that.
"Instructor, give me the laptop. I'll carry it; it might come in handy. Also, give me five minutes. I'll plant an information bomb in Blue Army's communications system. It won't destroy their communications system, but it can disrupt them for a long time," Jiang Yan Hai said quickly.
"Hurry up! Take the laptop with you!" Gong Jian did not waste words and simply waved his hand.
Jiang Yan Hai immediately sat back down at the table and began rapidly writing code on the laptop.
The information bomb was mainly meant to cripple the enemy's communications system. To put it bluntly, it was a computer virus designed specifically for destruction. While infiltrating the enemy's system was impossible, wrecking it was easy!
As he coded, Jiang Yan Hai quickly found several military cartoon figures online and photoshopped the Iron Fist Regiment and Special Operations Brigade insignias onto them.
Naturally, in the cartoon, the one doing the beating was the Iron Fist Regiment, while the one getting pummeled was the cartoon figure labeled Special Operations Brigade.
Once he was done, Jiang Yan Hai directly inserted the two images into the information bomb. He did not dare make the entire program too extreme.
If the Blue Army could not handle it... their whole system would be completely paralyzed. The exercise might not even be able to continue.
