Succession conflict

Zhu Zhuqing is the younger daughter of Zhu Tianyu and Zhu Caiyun and the biological sister of Zhu Zhuyun. She is seven years younger than Zhuyun and possessed Level 7 Innate Soul Power. 8 10 24

She was originally engaged to Dai Mubai. Because the Star Luo succession system forced the paired Dai and Zhu heirs into a life-or-death contest, her engagement turned her sister into an unavoidable rival. Dai Mubai's departure left Zhu Zhuqing isolated, ashamed within the Zhu family, and fearful that her future held only death or imprisonment. 3 9

Despite the gap in age and strength between herself and Zhuyun, Zhu Zhuqing cultivated intensely in hopes of changing her fate. Dai Weisi's gift of Ten Thousand Year Whale Rubber raised her to Level 16 and helped repair the sisters' strained relationship; Zhuqing began calling Zhuyun “Sister” again. 10 12

Crown Princess and marriage

An Imperial Decree abolished the Star Luo royal family's heir-selection system, dissolved Zhu Zhuqing's engagement to Dai Mubai, and named both Zhu sisters Crown Princesses. It also arranged Zhu Zhuqing's marriage to Dai Weisi upon her eighteenth birthday. 61 126

At first shy about the engagement, Zhu Zhuqing gradually developed feelings for Dai Weisi. Seeing Dai Mubai openly flirting with other women in Heaven Dou City finally ended her lingering attachment to her former fiancé; she openly accepted Dai Weisi as the person she loved most. 121
