Background / History

The empire is one of the two great empires and has repeatedly clashed with the Heaven Dou Empire. Before Martial Soul Hall intervened, Star Luo was positioned to annex Heaven Dou within ten years; its leaders regarded Heaven Dou’s uneven army and complacent generals as major weaknesses. Conflict with Martial Soul Hall deepened after its mediation prevented Star Luo’s expansion. 1 2

The Star Luo Royal Family formerly selected heirs through lethal competition: the victor became Crown Prince, while the loser faced death. Dai Pojun abolished this system after Dai Weisi’s request, citing the trauma of having executed his own brother. Dai Weisi was then formally installed as Crown Prince, with Zhu Zhuyun appointed Crown Princess. 59 60 65

Under Dai Weisi and Dai Pojun, the empire prioritized military modernization, recruitment of skilled personnel, and alliances with major clans and sects. Its growing power made it a principal rival to Martial Soul Hall and later one of the three leading forces in the soul master world. 22 155 260

Military and Industry

Firearms Development

Dai Weisi introduced black powder, firearms, hand grenades, landmines, and cannons to raise national strength. The empire established a heavily guarded weapons base, protected by ten thousand cavalry authorized to kill unidentified intruders on sight. Within six months, it had produced more than fifty thousand hand grenades and expanded landmine production. 2 22

• The Star Luo Royal Blacksmiths' Association was created by renaming the Gengxin City Blacksmiths’ Association.
• Blacksmiths received elevated status, titles, and benefits; within six months, thousands joined, and blacksmithing became the second most popular profession. 22
• The empire used firearms to equip both regular troops and specialist units. 83 86
• It fielded at least five thousand cannons during the siege of Martial Soul City. 229

Organizations and Allied Powers

• Clear Sky Sect — Formed a mutual-defense alliance with Star Luo after ending thirteen years of seclusion. The empire supplied logistics and support, while the sect contributed high-end combat power. 152 155
  • The sect later received the Kasas Highlands in Antony Otto Province as its settlement. 262
• Breaking Clan — Joined after Dai Weisi defeated Yang Wudi in their alliance challenge. Yang Wudi became Breaking Soul General, a marquis, and president of the Star Luo Royal Alchemist Association. 57 59 66
• Speed Clan — Accepted the empire’s protection, relocated to Star Luo City, and became the basis for the Gale Legion. Bai He was appointed Gale General. 83 86
• Seven Treasure Blue Lightning Sect — Formed when the surviving Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect and Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan were absorbed into Star Luo territory and merged. Its support-type spirit masters trained with Repeating Flintlock Guns. 309 310
• Star Moon Sect — A proposed organization based around Tang Yuehua’s Moonlight Pavilion network, intended to gather intelligence and recruit spirit masters within the Heaven Dou Empire. 160

Relations with Other Powers

• Martial Soul Hall — Long-term adversary. Martial Soul Hall blocked Star Luo’s earlier war against Heaven Dou, opposed its military buildup, and targeted its allies through assassination. The conflict escalated into open war and a “blood feud.” 1 23 66 234
• Heaven Dou Empire — Traditional rival whose territory Star Luo sought to annex. Star Luo later intervened in its internal crisis against Xue Qinghe and controlled seventy percent of the continent’s land after Heaven Dou was split. 1 321 326
• Seven Treasure Blue Lightning Alliance — Initially a separate top-three power alongside Star Luo and Martial Soul Hall; its survivors later joined the empire. 260 309
• Spirit Hall Empire — The state created after Qian Renxue annexed the former Heaven Dou territory. It inflicted catastrophic losses on Star Luo’s forces. 409 412

Military Strength

Star Luo Catastrophe

When the Heaven Dou Empire invaded the Heaven Spirit Empire, Star Luo sent reinforcements rather than allow its rival and Martial Soul Hall to consolidate control over the former Heaven Dou lands. The campaign was a trap designed to draw Star Luo into battle. 408

Qian Renxue, revealed as Xue Qinghe and the newly inherited Angel God, devastated the Star Luo forces. The army retreated after two days and one night, losing 35,000 soldiers, while Dugu Bo and Lie Tianhu were critically wounded; Chen Xin lost an arm, and Blazing Sun Douluo died buying time for the retreat. 409

Within months, the empire had fallen from twelve Titled Douluo to only four capable fighters. Dai Pojun reinforced Star Luo City while Dai Weisi prepared to return with Zhu Zhuyun and Zhu Zhuqing to confront Qian Renxue. 409 412

Later Development

After Bibi Dong and Qian Renxue were defeated, Dai Weisi and Anna seized the Spirit Hall Empire and took control of Martial Soul Hall’s remaining senior members. Rather than dissolve Martial Soul Hall, they preserved it to continue assisting civilian soul masters with martial soul awakenings. Dai Pojun became its Pope. 428
