Background

Love was born in Twain City. After his parents died, he left home and spent his youth wandering, often sleeping rough and uncertain of his next meal. He later settled into small-scale trade between Twain City and Crison Fort, where dealing with predatory nobles made him cautious and guarded. 64

Before entering Nord's service, Love managed the Warren Merchant Guild's local fur business and led a merchant caravan that regularly supplied Tami Village. Ryman had previously saved the caravan from bandits, creating a lasting rapport between Love and the Ryman brothers. 12 61

When Nord offered him work in Tami Village, Love accepted only after securing Nord's agreement to take in his employees as well. Nord then entrusted him with recruiting people from Crison Fort and investigating the Crison Family. 64

Love is a middle-aged man of around forty, with a wispy beard and the weathered appearance of a long-distance merchant. 12

Warning Nord and Joining Tami Village

Love warned Nord that Ollie's grain-and-tool sale was a trap, giving Nord time to prepare for an ambush. 12 He later arrived in Tami Village with his caravan, where Nord recognized both his honesty and his willingness to suffer losses for Ryman's sake. 61 62

After recounting his life as a wandering merchant, Love accepted Nord's offer of employment and became responsible for recruitment from Crison Fort and intelligence on the Crison Family. 64

Crison Fort Recruitment and Espionage

Using his merchant organization as cover, Love recruited impoverished Shantytown residents for relocation to Tami Village. The operation nearly failed when recruits doubted him, but Love informed Nord in time and completed the transfer with assistance from Tami Village. 73 107

Love chose to remain in Crison Fort after the major evacuation in order to confirm Viscount Ollie's return. He personally verified Ollie's convoy, then withdrew from the city after organizing a final evacuation of his people and contacts. 112 119 122

His report that Ollie had returned gave Nord the confirmation needed to begin the war against the Crison Family. 124

Ennoblement and Continued Intelligence Work

Nord knighted Love alongside Ryman, Colin, Marco, and Colin's son. Some villagers questioned Love's ennoblement because they did not understand his covert contributions; Nord publicly defended him as the person responsible for bringing many of them out of Crison Fort. 192 195

Love subsequently continued intelligence work in Twain City, monitoring Marquis Twen-related rumors and the movements of the Crison heir. 180 181 He later returned to warn Nord that three great earls had rebelled and surrounded Twain City. 270

Intelligence Chief of the Dermon Kingdom

Over time, Love grew from a caravan leader into a capable intelligence chief. He used merchant caravans and commercial strongholds to build information networks across the Eurilo Kingdom, while Nord relied on him for plans involving foreign trade and expansion. 421 422

During the conflict around Eurilo Ruixin City, Love helped exploit the growing distrust between the Eurilo Kingdom and its Besser Mercenaries. He personally met mercenary commanders as a Dermon envoy to negotiate their alignment with Nord's side. 448 449
