Background / History

Tang San grew up in Holy Soul Village as Tang Hao's son. At six, he was already devoted to cultivating the Mysterious Heaven Skill at dawn. Long Jie accidentally interrupted this cultivation, causing a minor internal injury; Tang San briefly showed killing intent before suppressing it. Although they came from the same village, Tang San initially held little attachment to Long Jie. 1

During his martial-soul awakening, Tang San manifested Blue Silver Grass with Innate Full Level Soul Power. After Long Jie publicly suggested that he had a second spirit, Tang San acknowledged the possibility and awakened the Clear Sky Hammer with Su Yuntao's assistance. Spirit Hall attempted to seize him, but Tang Hao revealed himself as a Titled Douluo, killed the pursuing Spirit Hall members, and fled with Tang San. 1 2

Tang San later joined Shrek Academy, where he encountered Long Jie again. Their childhood connection rapidly deteriorated into rivalry, particularly after Long Jie destroyed a Man Faced Demon Spider ring Tang San had spent considerable effort securing. 10 43

Tang Hao eventually revealed that Tang San's mother was A Yin, a Blue Silver Emperor Grass who had sacrificed herself after being pursued by Spirit Hall. Tang San swore to prioritize cultivation and avenge her rather than marry before achieving revenge. 140

Appearance

Tang San was described as ordinary-looking with dry skin when he reunited with Long Jie at Shrek Academy. Following Meng Yiran's life-draining revenge, his hair became gray-white and later grew to his waist while he lived in Slaughter City. 10 249 264

Personality

Tang San is intensely cultivation-focused and instinctively cautious. As a child, he recognized Su Yuntao's attempt to detain him as dangerous and immediately tried to escape using his movement technique. His devotion to Tang Hao is equally strong: he tried to protect his father even while believing Tang Hao was only a blacksmith facing several Soul Saints. 1 2

His rivalry with Long Jie is defined by resentment and revenge. Tang San views Long Jie's exposure of his twin spirits as the cause of his family's forced flight from Holy Soul Village, while Long Jie condemns Tang San and Tang Hao for killing the Spirit Hall personnel involved. 201

Tang San can be ruthless when cornered. He employs hidden weapons intended to kill stronger opponents, launches a surprise Storm Pear Blossom Needle attack after appearing defeated, and refuses to surrender the Purple Demon Eyes even when desperate for Long Jie's aid. 62 63 201 248
