Black Impermanence's cultivation was ultimately too high; this era could no longer contain him. As he wielded his mana, the origin within his body drained away ever faster. Facing three Twelfth Order gods and Du Guqiu, he found it increasingly difficult to cope.
At last, in a single moment of carelessness, Black Impermanence was blasted flying. He smashed apart a distant rockery, then climbed out of the dirt looking bedraggled and miserable. Staring at the heavens with grief and indignation, his voice cried blood, filled with tragic grandeur. "A dragon in shallow waters is mocked by shrimp; a tiger on the plains is bullied by dogs! It is not that this Old Ancestor is inferior to you, but that this era cannot contain me. Had I lived in the same era as you, this Old Ancestor could slap you mere ants to death with one hand!"
"Protect the Old Ancestor!"
The eyes of countless Zhang Family members immediately reddened. Zhang Gaqi charged forward at the head of the pack, intending to shield Black Impermanence behind him. Yet one of the gods merely pointed through the void, and every Zhang Family disciple was frozen in place.
One order, one heaven. Beneath the Twelfth Order, all were ants.
"What an arrogant tone, sir. If we lived in the same era, we might not be inferior to you! In this End of Dharma Era, we can still attain Yang Spirit. In a flourishing age of cultivation, we could suppress you with a flick of our fingers." Du Guqiu refused to accept it and retorted.
"A mere Yang Spirit is only the starting point in a great age of cultivation. What is there for you to be proud of?" Black Impermanence's eyes were filled with chilling gloom. "Remember this: one day, I will return!
