Farewell Gift

It wasn't a full moon at the moment. Although Alice felt that Mr. Door, who had emerged, might not be entirely normal either, he was still better than the one during the full moon—After all, it wasn't certain who would come out then.

Mr. Door had responded, but Alice did not reply immediately. She recalled Klein's analysis—mixed with some of Grischa Adam's. As for how she had obtained it... vodka did help with research, that was true. That quasi-God seemed to think vodka from a Historical Projection tasted better, perhaps because it was a flavor he had never tried before.

Alice was in no position to judge. She merely reviewed the analyses of the two of them—Klein had told her that Grischa Adam suspected the first ritual, the one involving the sacrifice of Demigods from three pathways, had most likely originated from the Fallen Mother God, while the second ritual belonged to the Door pathway.

Of course, even if it belonged to the Door pathway, that did not mean the ritual was safe. Grischa Adam had said that the Fallen Mother God possessed the authority of "rebirth." The personality Mr. Door had displayed beneath the Blood Moon had likely been a personality reborn through that authority.

This had indeed overturned Alice's worldview, but because of that, she realized that Mr. Door was probably beyond saving—at least, they could not save him now.

During Alice's silence, one starlight-like worm after another condensed within that dark Door of Light, forming a light sphere. Alice was no stranger to this form, as she had seen similar scenes on both Klein and Amon, though the appearances of the worms clustered together were different.

She still said nothing, merely watching quietly. More starlight rose, forming a massive arm. The arm was far larger than an
