With the Main Text Complete—A Few Words!
2026/2/7/14:59. I typed the three words "main text complete," bringing the longest epic I had ever written to an end with four updates totaling twenty thousand words. I was truly filled with countless emotions.
Come to think of it, the main storyline of Demonic Sect was actually very simple: tracing history back from the present to the past, then to antiquity, and finally to the Ancient Era, following the path all the way to its source.
Personally, I had actually planned this ending several months ago. Chu Sheng, who regarded all living beings as human material, ultimately became human material himself and worked for all living beings. I felt that was more meaningful than simply killing Chu Sheng.
The only real regret was that I failed to control the pacing of the story from January onward. I should have laid more groundwork earlier for the information concerning the seventeen Dao Ancestors of the Ancient Era. In the end, only the Name and Form Teachings had any buildup; the groundwork for the rest was far too sparse, while there were too many of them, making it feel somewhat like a deus ex machina.
Therefore, while I was very satisfied with the ending itself, there were still many flaws in the process leading up to it. That was also due to my lack of experience. After all, before this, let alone 3.4 million words, my personal record had only been a little over two million. This final conclusion and the resolution of the late-stage plot were somewhat clumsy. I am truly ashamed.
But no matter what, it still landed properly in the end.
And thanks to all you esteemed readers for your love and support, although the growth rate declined somewhat from January onward, overall
