True Lords are defined by their relationship with Fruit Positions. A victorious True Lord may incorporate the Jietian used as a battlefield into their Fruit Position's sphere of influence, then anchor it elsewhere to expand that influence 128.

• A True Lord's status normally exists in a symbiotic relationship with their Fruit Position; losing the position causes their status to fall 813.
• Supreme Fruit Positions stand inherently above ordinary Fruit Positions and are closer to the domain of the Dao Lords 612.
• A Fruit Position can summon its connected True Treasure back to its owner, even from another cultivator's seal 470.
• Recognition by Heaven and Earth can allow a True Lord's Image to be carved into the world itself, strengthening their cultivation and authority 628.

Classifications

Orthodox and Heretical True Lords

• Orthodox True Lords wield Fruit Positions belonging to the world itself and are regarded as the standard for True Lord combat power 470.
• Heretical True Lords use Fruit Positions originating outside the world. They vastly exceed Foundation Establishment cultivators but are generally weaker than orthodox True Lords 470 628.
• False Holding Gold Positions can temporarily borrow a Fruit Position's mysteries, but the user's soul does not undergo the qualitative transformation of genuine True Lordhood 612.

First-Class True Lords

A First-Class True Lord has elevated their Fruit Position mysteries into the supreme domain. This qualitative transformation is a major measure of top-tier True Lord strength 823.

• Heretical True Lords and False Holding Gold Positions occupy the fifth grade in Lu Yang's five-grade assessment of True Lords 628.
• A Fruit Position Ascension Ritual can raise an ordinary True Lord to First-Class combat power, though an incomplete ritual may be unstable and require constant maintenance 926.
• True Lord Clear Serene Flying Snow and True Lord Sky Soaring Sun Obscuring are identified as cultivators who completed the supreme-domain transformation 823.

True Treasures and Grotto-Heavens

• Spiritual Treasures can possess up to five wondrous powers; those beyond that limit are True Treasures, which are comparable in rank to True Lords 450.
• A True Lord can properly unleash a True Treasure's power, whereas lower-realm cultivators may only activate a fraction of it 450.
• Golden Core Middle Stage advancement is tied to matching True Treasures with Fruit Position mysteries and a Grotto-Heaven 617.
• A Golden Core Middle Stage True Lord can revive through their Fruit Position, though the exact method may be limited by Dharma Power or cultivation 626 636.

Death and Limitations

A True Lord is exceptionally difficult to eradicate permanently. Complete destruction requires three separate killings:

1. Destroy the Grotto-Heaven and force the True Lord to fall from their Fruit Position.
2. Destroy the soul before it can enter the Netherworld through reincarnation.
3. Destroy the remaining Gold Nature so it cannot attach to another vessel and enable revival 357.

Other documented limitations include:

• Tampering with an earth vein invites Heavenly Punishment; at the True Lord level, this punishment is more severe and cannot be diverted through ordinary secret arts 614.
• Forcing True Lord-level power into the Heavenly Court Fragment can trigger a violent reaction from that realm's Fruit Position 341.
• A True Lord who loses their Fruit Position loses the status and authority derived from it 813.

Influence on the World

True Lord conflicts can reshape the world beyond the battlefield. Their duels cause natural disasters, provoke cultivator-on-cultator violence, and cause Fruit Positions to manifest in ways that influence Foundation Establishment True Persons 199.

The victory or death of a True Lord can also alter the distribution of Fruit Positions, shift the balance between major sects, and create rare opportunities for lower cultivators to advance 128 253.
