Shrek Academy's Soul Duel Zone was located on the northwestern side of the Martial Soul Department, near Shrek City. To hold a soul duel here, both sides had to pay at least ten Gold Soul Coins as a venue fee.
To encourage students to compete in the Soul Duel Zone, the Academy awarded a certain amount of credits to the winners, along with bonus points during grade assessments. Especially after the fourth year, the Academy had made the number of victories in the Soul Duel Zone a mandatory requirement for advancement, urging students to fight there more often.
Furthermore, matches in the Soul Duel Zone were open to all students, though each match required one Silver Soul Coin for admission. For every duel, the Academy also broadcast the competitors' participation information throughout their dormitory areas, drawing classmates and friends to watch. The Academy took half of the ticket revenue, while the other half was awarded to the winner of the soul duel.
Listening to Tang Ya's introduction, Huo Yuhao could not help sighing at how skilled Shrek Academy was at making money off its students. Participating in public matches at the Great Soul Arena in Shrek City was free, yet Shrek Academy charged a fee. Well, it was like actors paying out of pocket to act in films, or authors paying to write books.
After Huo Yuhao and Xu San Shi registered for their soul duel, they were taken to the waiting room and separated from Tang Ya and the others.
Since Xu San Shi was a well-known figure in the Outer Court, their duel could not begin immediately. The Soul Duel Zone needed to publicize the match first and attract more people to watch.
