Background

Tang Ya inherited the burden of a declining Tang Sect after its destruction. As a child, she sought aid from Shrek Academy, the Clear Sky Sect, and other forces that had promised to support the sect, but none intervened against the enemy responsible for its fall. The loss of her parents and the abandonment of the Tang Sect shaped her fixation on revenge. 12

She initially serves as the Tang Sect’s Sect Leader and hopes to restore its former glory. Huo Yuhao’s claims that Tang San’s true Martial Soul was the Blue Silver Emperor, rather than ordinary Blue Silver Grass, and that the Tang Sect’s inheritance was incomplete cause her to question both its traditions and its founder. 9 10

During a hunt in the Star Dou Great Forest, she obtains her third Soul Ring from Soul-Devouring Grass. Its hidden capacity to absorb life force gives her a means to accelerate cultivation, but also draws her toward the path of an Evil Soul Master. 14 217

Tang Ya ultimately relinquishes the Tang Sect’s leadership, assets, secret arts, and the Twenty-Four Bridges Under the Moonlit Night to Bei Bei. She leaves Shrek Academy to pursue revenge for her parents and repay Huo Yuhao’s help. 217

Appearance

Tang Ya is a youthful woman with Phoenix Eyes, a high ponytail, and a slender build. Her appearance visibly changes with the state of her Martial Soul.

  • Her eyes can take on a purple or purplish-red hue when her darkness attribute surfaces. 10 293
  • Her Blue Silver Grass manifests as thick sky-blue vines marked by black patterns when driven by hatred. 293
  • After awakening the Blue Silver Emperor, her black hair becomes blue, her purple eyes become clear blue, and she gains a gentler, life-infused aura. 361

Personality

Tang Ya is carefree, impulsive, mischievous, and intensely food-motivated. Huo Yuhao’s cooking repeatedly wins her attention, and she openly anticipates his meals and grilled fish. 3 16 21

Beneath this lighthearted exterior, she carries deep grief and resentment over her parents’ deaths and the Tang Sect’s destruction. Her need for revenge makes her susceptible to darkness, yet she remains decisive once she commits to a path. 12 217

She is emotionally vulnerable but not passive. When helping Huo Yuhao gain Ah Yin’s trust, she quickly adapts to the fabricated story and convincingly plays the role of Ah Yin’s lost daughter. 358 359
