Background / History

Hayato returned to his hometown after his father’s job transfer and enrolled at Karasuno High School. Following a car accident, his body became inhabited by Su Yun, a former provincial volleyball-team captain from another world; he retained Hayato’s memories and set out to win the National Championship with Karasuno. 1

Although he tells Karasuno that he has only one year of junior-high volleyball experience, Su Yun’s more than ten years of prior experience account for his advanced fundamentals, tactical awareness, and all-around court ability. He must nevertheless adjust to Hayato’s taller 191 cm body and its different physical limits. 3 4
