Background / History

Before transferring away in fourth grade, Tanaka lived near Tenai Yōka. He defended the unusually tall Yōka when other boys called her a “giantess,” introduced her to volleyball, and helped her gain confidence in the sport. 217

At Karasuno, Tanaka is one of the first people to speak with transfer student Kuroba Hayato.
