A shrill alarm rang out. Hearing it, the pink-haired girl sitting on the bed with Haro in her arms curiously rose to her feet and looked toward the door.

Lacus Klein listened to the piercing alarm, unease rising within her. As the daughter of the PLANT Chairman, a series of coincidences had brought her aboard the Archangel, a ship belonging to the opposing faction. Yet Lacus had never worried about her personal safety. Screams, gunfire, and cries could faintly be heard outside the door. Lacus was terribly worried, but as a "prisoner," she was currently confined to this cabin. She had no way of leaving, much less finding out what was happening outside.

Just as Lacus was growing increasingly anxious, the tightly shut door silently opened. A bespectacled young man then walked in.
"Hello. May I ask what happened outside?"
Seeing him, Lacus hurriedly rose and asked. She remembered that this young man seemed to be a classmate of someone named Kira Yamato. Although she was not very familiar with him, she knew they had originally been ordinary civilians. But judging by his current expression, the situation outside was clearly far from simple.
