Jupiter orbit.
The Reapers still floated there silently, utterly motionless. The strange silvery-white creatures did the same. Gradually, they seemed to form some sort of connection with one another. Then, those silvery-white things slowly merged together, becoming one enormous... Reaper after another.
"They actually turned into this?"
Upon receiving the Swarm's report, Fang Zheng frowned. He had never expected this minor problem to remain unresolved even now.
"Where's Hecate?"
"Miss Hecate tried, but... she found their psychic attacks somewhat difficult to handle..."
According to Iona, whenever those strange silvery-white creatures encountered a target, they would frantically transmit waves of information at it. The stronger the target, the greater the amount of information received. Even Hecate had no way to process such an enormous exchange of information in an instant, so she had ultimately been forced to retreat.
The silvery-white creatures themselves were not difficult to deal with. The problem was that they unleashed a mad torrent of information to bombard and communicate with their targets. It was somewhat like a DDoS attack. Put simply, there was no real technique to it—they just crushed you with sheer numbers.
Yet you had no choice but to withstand them head-on if you wanted to stop and destroy them.
"I'll try using the Swarm."
The Mental Model network was not enough to withstand an information assault of that scale. Fang Zheng could only consider trying the Swarm now.
He closed his eyes and, in the blink of an eye, connected with the Swarm on Mars, tens of millions of miles away. Fang Zheng swiftly mobilized several million Banelings, then opened a wormhole and instantly transported them all beyond Jupiter's orbit. At his command, countless Banelings surged toward the Reapers and the silvery-white monsters in Jupiter's orbit like floodwaters bursting through a dam.
