"Eh? Mr. Fang Zheng...?"
Fate stared at Fang Zheng before her in astonishment, her eyes widening as she briefly wondered whether she was hallucinating.
Yet the touch on her head was familiar, and so was the person standing before her...
"Eh? Eh? But weren't you...?"
"I thought about it and decided to take some time to come see you. After all, it's your first birthday."
Fang Zheng was not wrong about taking "some time." It just so happened that he was on break in the Underdark, so he returned to his room without hesitation. After giving it some thought, Fang Zheng decided to come see Fate.
So Fang Zheng used Michael to open a door leading to the elevator for the Heavenly Dao Palace Plane, then hurried over at top speed.
To be safe, Fang Zheng had even used Boson Jump... Well, he had learned at least a few useful things in Mecha World.
"Where's Alicia? Is she asleep already?"
"Mm."
At Fang Zheng's question, Fate nodded.
"Big Sister is already asleep..."
Though Alicia was nominally the older sister, her body was still that of a little girl under ten. The birthday party had been lively, and Alicia had enjoyed herself immensely, so she had long since become exhausted. She had said good night early and gone to bed.
"Mm, then it can only be like this. I didn't bring any gifts this time either..."
Fang Zheng patted himself down and found that the only things on him he could probably give away were the Blazing Warhorse's Reins and the Headless Knight's Reins... But those did not seem especially suitable for Fate and the others.
If he had pulled out a phoenix or a Northrend Whelp, there might have been a chance.
"I'll make it up to you next time..."
