At that moment, a very different scene was unfolding in Strange's home.
It was already late at night, yet the people seated in the living room all wore grim expressions and tightly furrowed brows. Anyone who recognized them would have cried out in shock, because everyone gathered here was a core member of the Avengers.
They included Captain America, Stephen Rogers; the Hulk, Professor Bruce Banner; and... Iron Man, Tony Stark.
"I mean... shouldn't we say something?"
Spider-Man, Peter Parker, rubbed his hands together as he looked at the atmosphere, which was awkward enough to leave anyone at a loss.
"The kid's right."
Hearing that, Strange stood as well and looked toward Captain America and Iron Man, who were staring at each other in silence.
"All right, we know there's a lot between you two, but right now, we have something more important..."
"Thanos."
Doctor Banner quietly finished Strange's sentence. At the mention of that name, everyone's expression shifted slightly.
To explain how things had reached this point, they had to go back three hours. After Fang Zheng had snatched away the Time Stone right in front of Strange, Hulk Banner had suddenly appeared in Strange's home via the Bifrost. From Banner, Strange learned that a terrifying figure called Thanos was collecting the Infinity Stones in an attempt to wipe out half the population of the entire universe.
Realizing the seriousness of the situation, Strange immediately sought out Tony Stark, hoping to use his help to call upon the other Avengers.
However, at that moment, a group of aliens launched an attack on them from a spacecraft. They claimed to be Thanos's subordinates and said they had come for the Time Stone.
But the Time Stone had already been stolen by Fang Zheng!
Strange had no way to explain it.
