Although a small issue had arisen between Eriri and Kurumi, everyone else got along quite well. Both the dinner and the amusement park's nighttime carnival had left everyone thoroughly entertained.
Son of Heaven and Satoko in particular had played so much that they almost forgot to go home. If Son of Heaven didn't still have matters in the Chinese Federation to handle, she would have loved to simply live in Heavenly Dao Palace and never leave.
Fortunately, Fang Zheng had given everyone a Personal Terminal. With it, they could teleport directly to Heavenly Dao Palace, finally easing the resentment of those who couldn't come whenever they wanted.
What Fang Zheng hadn't expected was that, once the carnival ended, Colette came looking for him.
"I heard you're planning to start a Magical Girl school?"
As the head of the Necromancy System, Colette was extremely well-informed. Or rather, there was nothing in the entire White Tower that she didn't know about.
"That's right."
"Magical Girls... how are they different from ordinary mage apprentices?"
Like a certain someone, Colette couldn't make heads or tails of what this was supposed to be. Fang Zheng thought for a moment before answering.
"Magical Girls work through contracts... Ordinary magic has to be learned before it can be used. But Magical Girls must first form a contract to awaken the power within their bodies. So unlike ordinary mages, the process by which Magical Girls grow stronger is a process of constantly uncovering their own potential."
"Doesn't that sound just like those sorcerers?"
Though both were Spellcasters, mages and sorcerers didn't get along. Sorcerers drew power by awakening the bloodlines within their bodies, so they constantly mocked mages for having to study. Mages, meanwhile, believed sorcerers were ignorant fools who relied on the blessings their ancestors had accumulated.
