Dr. Oyaayahiko's house could be summed up in one sentence: filthy, messy, and awful.
Not only had the room gone uncleaned for ages, but the air carried a rotten stench. Trails of slime, as though something had slithered across the floor, were visible everywhere. Seeing this, Saya looked distinctly embarrassed.
"Dad used to be the one in charge of cleaning..."
"..."
Fang Zheng said nothing. He walked over to the bathroom, pulled open the door, and found the bathtub full of bones from cats, dogs, birds, and other small animals...
"Dad wouldn't let me take them out and throw them away. He said it would be bad if someone found out..."
Saya sounded like a college student caught by the dorm supervisor during an inspection, timidly trying to explain herself. Naturally... she had no confidence in her excuse.
With this much garbage on the floor, any dorm room would have been doomed.
Fang Zheng snapped his fingers. Flames appeared out of thin air and burned every bone in the bathtub to ash, dispersing some of the source of that rancid smell. He stared at the burning remains before speaking.
"What did you usually eat?"
"Well... Dad bought me food, like chicks and ducklings. Sometimes I went nearby to catch cats and dogs..."
At that point, Saya timidly glanced again at the husky staring at her.
"Can't you eat human food?"
"Human food... doesn't taste good."
"Then I'll give you an examination when we get back."
Fang Zheng was not particularly surprised by Saya's answer. Thinking about it carefully, since the doctor had summoned Saya, he definitely would not have allowed her to run around outside. But as for feeding her, with Dr. Oyaayahiko's income, treating Saya like a pet cat or dog would not have been a problem at all.
