The more Fang Zheng watched the battle, the more irritated he became.
It was not that the Galactic Empire was doing poorly, but... no matter how he looked at them, these Zerg seemed like cheap knockoffs of his own Swarm.
Like the Swarm, they had a main combat unit similar to Zerglings. The Empire called them Rending Zerg. They did not resemble Fang Zheng's little dogs in the slightest; to him, they looked more like four-legged cockroaches. Their sizes were roughly comparable as well.
Likewise, besides the Rending Zerg, there was another monster called the Serpent Zerg—this was practically a knockoff Hydralisk. Other than having fewer claws, it was almost identical to a Hydralisk. It could burrow and move underground too. They were practically fraternal twins.
There was also a Hydralisk's unrelated brother, the Burrowing Python. Though it looked like an enlarged, enhanced Hydralisk, it did the work of a Nydus Worm. Fang Zheng observed it carefully for a while, only to discover that it could merely dig tunnels across the battlefield. It did not have his Nydus Worms' ability to excavate wormholes across star systems. He simply chuckled and let it be.
Fortunately, aside from that, the other Terran Zerg units did not feel nearly as similar to Fang Zheng's own Swarm. Their frontline troops looked as though they had been cast from the same mold as the Swarm, but their elite units were entirely different.
Mixed among the Rending Zerg and Serpent Zerg were monsters with two legs and four arms. They were huge and excelled at both ranged and close combat. Their upper two claws could fight in melee, while their lower two hands wielded different weapons. Moreover, their bodies were exceptionally tough, at least far tougher than those frontline bugs.
Some of these monsters carried guns,
