After that little interlude, the three of them continued their patrol—or rather, their sightseeing tour—through the North Area.
They were pretty much the same thing anyway. Didn't emperors in TV dramas go south just to eat, drink, and fool around with beautiful women?
During this time, Sandora complained quite a bit to Fang Zheng. Clearly, she was deeply dissatisfied with Mandora and everyone in "Salamandra." Her older sister Sarah, as the heir, had left "Salamandra," while her older brother could not inherit the leadership position because of a congenital problem with his horns. That was why the role had fallen to her. No one expected anything from her, and no one believed in her. Sandora had once wanted to change all of this through her own efforts, to change how others saw her.
But even so, no one within "Salamandra" took Sandora seriously. Although she had fought hard during the last Demon King attack, everyone still saw her as nothing more than a child—and in truth, she was indeed a child.
But did Sandora have no complaints of her own?
Her sister had selfishly abandoned her responsibilities, never considering the future of this community. Her brother, as a man, only had to look like he was working hard to receive praise, regardless of the results. And what did she get? Even if she worked hard, no one believed she ought to perform well. It would be more accurate to say that no one had expected anything from her in the first place, so what was the point of doing all this?
The more Sandora spoke, the more wronged she felt, until tears began to fall from her eyes.
"All right, don't be so sad, little one."
Fang Zheng reached out and stroked Sandora's little head.
"At least I'll stand by
