Breaking Through Like Bamboo (New month-give this kitty some monthly tickets for snacks!)
Strictly speaking, Miho Nishizumi had not been summoned by Fang Zheng. After using the Dimensional Codex system to search for a world where people could skillfully operate tanks, he had spent Dimension Points to "hire" her from that world.
Of course, "hiring" was not as cost-effective as "summoning." Those summoned naturally became Fang Zheng's subordinates, but those hired did not—because they did not appear in physical form, but as mental projections.
In other words, the tank girls appearing here were merely projections of their actual selves, much like Heroic Spirits manifesting in the world, and they were also time-limited. In game terms, it was more like Fang Zheng had spent points to get a group of "trial characters." Once the trial period ended, they would go back.
Furthermore, Miho Nishizumi and the others would not remember the events of this world very clearly. Many people had probably experienced this: you might have a dream where you became involved in some vast conspiracy in a mysterious world, fighting and killing within it, perhaps even going through all sorts of deeply moving events. It felt as if decades had passed in an instant, yet when you opened your eyes, only one night had gone by. By the time you finished breakfast, you had mostly forgotten the dream.
Miho Nishizumi and the others were currently in that sort of state. They might assist Fang Zheng in battle in this world, but once the "trial period" ended, they would wake up and forget those memories.
Fang Zheng had not planned to draw them permanently anyway. After all, these girls were only skilled at operating tanks, while Fang Zheng already had the Zerg for ground forces. He had no need for tanks. Hiring them for a while before sending them back was the best choice.
