The Protagonists Appear (Either the Power Goes Out or the Water Gets Cut Off-So Annoying)
Looking at Altina before her, Ada Wong felt utterly devastated deep down.
Who was she?
She was one of the world's top agents, the elite among elites, the ace of aces. If there were an agent ranking, Ada Wong was confident she could make the top three!
And yet, she had been followed all the way by a girl who was probably half her age, then had a gun pointed at her—and she had not noticed a thing?
How was she supposed to keep working as an agent if word got out?
It was not entirely Ada Wong's fault for being careless. Altina did not need to walk. She usually rode on the Lightsaber's arm, and the latter was an anti-gravity humanoid tactical shell that floated through the air and possessed optical camouflage. Unless Ada Wong had Black Technology or superpowers, detecting Altina would have been extremely difficult.
Of course, Ada Wong had no way of knowing any of that. As she stared at Altina, all she could think was, The new waves of the Yangtze push the old ones onward, and the old waves die on the beach.
Getting outplayed by a girl more than a decade younger than her... should she just change careers?
Naturally, that bout of melancholy lasted only an instant. As an agent, Ada Wong quickly regained her composure and began considering how to escape her current predicament. She watched Altina, then smiled.
"Little sister, it isn't good for you to hold that gun. What if you accidentally miss? If you damage the control panel here, then Mr. Fang Zheng will never be able to get out, you know?"
"..."
Faced with Ada Wong's words, Altina said nothing. She merely kept her gun trained silently on the woman before her. Ada Wong shrugged and chuckled.
