The weather in this world was exceptionally wild.

It had been clear skies just moments ago, but in the blink of an eye, dark clouds rolled in like stormy waves, blanketing the entire sky. Torrential rain poured down, pounding against the ground.

Before the downpour arrived, Fang Zheng and Maje took shelter in an abandoned, unoccupied wooden cabin nearby. It was hardly clean or tidy, but it was more than enough to keep out the rain. They left their horses outside, entered the cabin, cleared away some of the debris, and found a spot that was relatively less drafty to sit down. Fang Zheng then built a fire. At the same time, the rainstorm swept in, pea-sized raindrops mixed with fierce winds battering the cabin walls and door. Even the cold wind slipping in through cracks on all sides carried a biting chill.

"This actually feels pretty nice."

Sitting in a somewhat battered wooden chair, staring at the fire before her and listening to the rain, Maje could not help sighing wistfully.

"How wonderful would it be to have a little cabin like this, cultivate a few acres of land, raise a few animals, and live a peaceful, quiet life?"

"Then you'd have to watch out for wolf packs in the forest, put up with harassment from ignorant villagers, go without long hot baths, and suffer miserably from mosquitoes in the summer."
