Finding Jason was no easy task.
Strictly speaking, Jason's methods of murder were more like those of an assassin: stealthy, deadly, killing in a single blow. Often, he had nearly wiped out everyone in an entire camp before the survivors cluelessly realized something was wrong. Under such circumstances, Shizuku could not even use screams to find Jason—because most of the people he killed never had time to scream.
Not only that, like every player who loved stealth games, Jason would hide his victims' bodies after killing them. Often, he hid them in an especially "dramatic" fashion. Jason was practically the perfect stealth-game character.
Fang Zheng knew that a battle-royale-like game based on Friday the 13th had once been released. But in his view, that game was far too contrived. The horror of Friday the 13th lay in its victims enjoying peaceful pastoral scenery without realizing that the evil hand reaching for them was already there—the silent, unseen terror of it.
But once the game began, everyone knew they were Jason's prey, that they either had to escape or be killed. In that situation, much of the thrill and terror Jason brought vanished... It became nothing more than an ordinary reskinned battle royale game.
Forget it. This was not the time to discuss that.
Standing atop a tree, Shizuku swept her gaze across the surrounding campsites. Fortunately, camps attacked by Jason had a distinctive trait: Jason would cut off the power to distract his targets, then attack them from the darkness. So as long as she found the campsite without electricity, she could probably locate him... Found it!
Just then, Shizuku spotted a distant campsite that had been pitch-black suddenly light up, only for the lights to go out again. Her eyes narrowed at the sight. She immediately changed direction and
