Fang Zheng began making secret arrangements against the enemy, while battles continued elsewhere on Earth.
The United States naturally had it the worst. Targeted simultaneously by the Zerg and the undead army, they were already in total rout. Modern cities had no walls, after all, and neither the Zerg nor the Forsaken cared about human rights or what anyone thought. The American military was beaten into a miserable defeat.
Sylvanas had even shamelessly released plague viruses into the city's drinking water facilities, turning the prosperous metropolis of San Francisco into a second Stratholme...
Of course, the Scourge was still relatively manageable. Whether Gargoyles, Abominations, Liches, or other undead, they could all be blown apart with sufficient firepower. Even the plague poison gas favored by the Forsaken was not much of a problem as long as people wore gas masks and took proper precautions.
Even Sylvanas herself could not withstand a barrage of rockets.
But the problem was... the Swarm did not fear them.
With the weapons currently available on Earth, ordinary firearms could not even penetrate a Zergling's defenses. The Fifth-generation fighter jets Americans were so proud of were utterly useless against Suicide Bats and Mutalisks. The Zerg did not fear casualties at all. Even if you took down a few Mutalisks from beyond visual range, once the rest swarmed in, you were still doomed.
Without air superiority, fighting the Swarm on the ground was naturally even more hopeless. In terms of speed, a wave of Dragon Dogs was faster than seventy miles per hour. Before you could even form up, they had already infiltrated your lines. In terms of power, Brood Lords charging wildly through the battlefield were not something ordinary tanks could stop.
Not to mention that American technology was still far inferior to the Terrans' in StarCraft.
